Bump for 9,

Once again, I don't think I'll be able to join you all tonight.

I'm expecting a phone call around 9.30 and it's double-EastEnders tonight, so I expect I'll watch EE "live" and record "Mutiny".

Sorry you're not joining us Eugene  Would like to have heard what you think of this.

Yeah: it's an interesting show, and reading back some of the comments it would definitely be nice to watch "live".

A few thoughts:

I got a bit concerned that the "reality TV friction" with Chris would overtake things, but in the end I think they got the balance right, and the observation about Chris being "Fletcher Christian" to Ant's Bligh was an interesting one.

It's a sobering reminder of how lucky we are in the modern world with things like antibiotics, and how incredibly tough the sailors were back then. Without the support team, Ben would almost certainly have lost his hand and could well have ended up dead (along with a few others).

Above all, the series confirms - if it was ever in doubt - just what an astonishing achievement Bligh's voyage was!

It really was, wasn't it Eugene! Was interested to learn from a BBC documentary recently on Captain Cook, that Bligh was on his last ship. He obviously learned seamanship from the best.
