When I was younger I loved English mustard. Thinking back; pork pies, for instance, would simply not have been the same without it! Lol

 

I can recall my stepmother introducing me to wholegrain mustard and enjoying that also – and French mustard – which was not quite as potent as English.

 

About 12 years ago I stopped eating meat and ever since mustard has never  seemed as appealing to me at the dinner table – other than to perhaps liven up a minus-meat roast dinner, or similar.

 

At the weekend while we were shopping in Waitrose I was attracted to this fancy looking traditional Dijon mustard that was being promoted – and decided to buy a jar. Impulse buy or what? Lol

 

So, do you like mustard, which mustard, and what do you enjoy it with? Also, what the heck does Dijon mustard go well with?

I once had a French colleague who couldn't understand how Brits could eat English mustard as it was too strong! 

 

As a rule of thumb, I tend to use English as a condiment, and Dijon for cooking with...

Joe, I know this might seem odd, seeing as I only know you from a forum, but you always seemed to me like a 'man of the world' so I just find it really odd that you dismiss so many foods.

I should add, after my pregnancy, I still hate mustard.  

 

And as far as I am concerned, every mustard in the world should be gathered and smothered over snakes to kill them both out.

This Dijon mustard that we bought is as strong as English imo which has surprised me.

My brother saId it is revolting, then I made him a lasagne with quorn mince, which he declared the best lasagne he'd ever eaten.

 

He was right miffed when I told him

The only time we had quorn mince i thought it rather dry. Oddly enough i have tried a quorn ready made lasagne which was rather nice.

I didn't really understand your link between "Man of the World" and me not eating shite, like.

I eat quorn of some description every day, love it
