Heat, I have ordered it from Play.com .. £1.98!  Shar has recommended that we wait until 16 October to start it as this would give everyone a fair chance of getting the book from wherever.  Mine should be here in 3-4 days as I ordered it on Saturday morning.  Croc put me onto this site.  I'd never heard of it until I read the Book Club blog. 

I noticed that you are getting the audio version .. perfect if you are on the move!  I don't know how Book Clubs work, so I will play it by ear.  I won't start reading until everyone is ready and then we can all discuss it as we go along.   It is entirely a different genre for me to read because I am heavily into history.  It will make a real change, and it will be a challenge to read something I would not otherwise read.  Do you feel like this, or do you like Michael Crichton as an author?

I've never read anything before by Michael Crichton although I did start Prey this morning and am suitably impressed with the intro (which on the audio book is by read by the author) and the first couple of chapters. I got into audio books only recently when I decided I wanted to tackle Winston Churchills World War 2 memoirs and knew I'd stand no chance sitting down and reading them !!! So, to cut a long story short....I've found they work for me and an awesome alternative in the car to radio.

I've no idea on book clubs either, this really is a first for me but I am looking forward to it.
