Just seen that iTunes are having a big media thing about having the Beatles available for download. Possibly a sly tie in with Simon Cowell's X Factor somewhere? You can download the Red or Blue album for £17.99 but the CD version typically retails at £10 or less. Are people so lazy that they can't wait a few days to buy a CD version of the album (they might well already have) and then rip it to MP3?
I'm not aware of any Digital Rights Management on those CDs so it just seems crazy to download for £17.99 when you could have a hard copy CD for far less.
OK, the new Beatles releases are an extreme example and not all of those Beatles downloads are £17.99, but those Red and Blue albums surely have rip off written all over them?
Aside from that, are MP3 downloads a rip off?
