Right....just a few thoughts on character ID's....

There are three ways you could do it as far as I can see.

1. Change your Gaga display name to your character name for the duration of the Murder Mystery.

This means that even when you are not "in character" and just chatting elsewhere, you will still be posting under your character name. You won't be able to keep changing your display name at will, otherwise your character will "disappear" in the murder threads (and become you....if you know what I mean? ).

2. Set up an alternate ID in your characters name and log in and out,  switching between "character" and "you" whenever you feel like it.

This has the advantage that the Murder thread will still be intact (ie display the characters names) even after it's all finished, but...... I know from past murder games I've played that it can be hard to remember to switch when you need to

3. You could change your forum name to include your character name, alongside your normal forum name.



I haven't decided which I'm going for yet...... but I'm tempted to go for the second option.

How long will it go on?

Ducky I think only option 1 would work. As far as I know you can't have separate ID's here. I might be wrong but maybe check with Lori anyway? I don't mind changing my display name for the duration just for the record.

I've just realised I'm gonna have to think up a name for my barman/private dick.....and get an avvy sorted.....

It's times like these I wish we still had sigs! They were a huge part of the fun the other times I've done this! I spent aaaaaages coming up with a good one.

I don't mind changing for the duration either, and I have to say it would be by far the most simplest option.

Don't worry....I've been through this three times before. Two as characters with no responsibility for the running of it (and had a whale of a time!!!)....and once as the "owner" of the forum it was happening on.

That last time nearly gave me grey hairs!!  I didn't write and plan it, but I encouraged it to go ahead, so felt mega responsible for everyone having fun, and in the process nearly failed to have any myself.

This time I plan to have a ball. I shall keep a close eye on poor Hooch to make sure she does the same.
