I've seen the latest film you directed and have to agree with the critics- it was utterly pants! why don't you just stick to acting?

Of course, if you really are wanting to persist with a directing career, how would you feel about my turning one of my best selling novels in to a script for you?

OK it was not the best film in the world But any monkey in a bowler hat can act and I know I can direct a great film - I just need a million Pound budget and an amazing script, and amazing scripts are hard to come by.

Seriously?No offence but unless one of your cosy mysteries features a sinking ocean liner with thousands of innocent people about to die, I'm not really interested.
