Right, looking at Ian Rankin's twitter, it was something one of the teams failed to ask a follow-up question to about something they heard. When the two sisters were questioning the girl on the beach, she said the row outside the pub was far from friendly, she then went on to say 'I can imagine what it was about' they didn't ask what she thought it was about 
Maybe that's the clue they missed, goes back to check if anyone else missed anything out

The only other thing I could fined, the landlord said he knew she was pregnant, but the two old biddies didn't ask if he knew who the father was...I'm exhausted with sleuthing, I tell ya
