Help me out here.

Remember Hartley hare and Pipkins?

Well i seem to remember a cloth puppet from that or another prog like that used to sit on the arm (or back) of a sofa, had no legs, was a knitted cloth kinda material, had a big nose and was basically a bag and would get things out of what was in effect its tummy on request from Pig or hartley.

Any ideas what character it was??

How long did that show run for? I used to watch it in the late 1970s/early 1980s I think. I thought you were in your late 20s.

edit: I just googled and it stopped in December 1981. You must have an awfully good memory.

And sorry, I can't remember the name of that cloth puppet. I only remember Hartley, Octavia and the pig.

wasn't there Topov the monkey?  or did I dream him?

Pig - I do a very good impersonation of pig saying

"gis a bit of yow creamy cake then 'artley"   in a thick Black Country (not Birmingham) accent

Would you by any chance be referring to Humphrey Cushion?

The programme was called Hickory House.
