I've just noted that same thing in the Glenn Frey thread Baz. How weird that last week we had 2 go at 69. Such a bad 12 months or so.

Would you believe the last time I saw Mott the Hoople was at the Oval on 18th September 1971?
They had a cult following at our school and one of my friends who died last year had some form of groupie status with the band. All quite surprising since they had a few albums and no success, not until the following year anyway. They went all glam and we lost interest.
That particular day lives on in my memory, even though they were well down the list.
I do wish I could say the same about The Eagles, but I cringe when one of their drab bland songs is played on the electric wireless.
