What is the most uncomfortable place you have had to sleep, the worst nights sleep ever !!

For me, two spring to mind. An overnight 13 hour coach trip to Istanbul, with 2 adults and a child taking up 2 coach seats. I was ready to murder someone at the end of that trip. I was so hot and tired i felt violent by the time i fell off it. I couldn't even bring myself to talk to anyone it was that bad

The second was trying to sleep on those reclining seat things on an overnight ferry crossing to france.

You know when its that bad when you just have to lie down , nomatter what

I was watching QVC the other night (yes its my guilty pleasure) and the bloke selling sealy beds on there said that they have done research and out of lack of food, lack of water or lack of sleep, lack of sleep would kill you first.   Dont know how true that is, but if QVC said it, then it must be true!!!

I can't sleep anywhere except a bed!  On a very rare occasion I have slept on the sofa but tossed and turned too much and ended up back in bed or awake watching TV.  I've tried napping on the sofa....can't do that either.

There's not a chance of me falling asleep on a bus or plane either.

I love my bed with all my heart

Although these days I cannot sleep unless I am in a bed, I can't even snooze on the sofa.  AND if I might be so bold as to add, my bed is the most comfortable bed in the whole wide world.  In fact after we bought the bed we were in the store where we bought it looking at something else and I saw two people trying out 'our' bed and I couldn't help myself I had to go over and tell them them that they wouldn't regret buying it.

Seems like a lot of us have done it at some point  . As you say - it feels OK at the time.

On an overnight ferry to Ireland, we were sitting in a booth-type thing, my head was on the table, and the ferry was listing from side to side.

I remember some passengers were running past to be sick, the crossing was so rough......I didn't feel nauseous, just wanted to get some sleep so badly, lol.

Edit: whenever I hear Savage Garden's "Truly Madly Deeply" it always reminds me of being on that ferry, cos it was on the music channel on the lounge TV constantly.

Yeah of course, but that's not a REMEMBERED place of sleeping, unless they added the nasty U shaped toilet mat as a 'sick bib'.

BTW that never happened to me but I was just thinking about being there now.

(sitting on the loo I might add ,)

When I woke up, I looked in the mirror and found that I had an imprint of the toilet seat on my forehead!

I had a stippled effect from the bath mat on the side of my face. Very classy!
