I have to say im feeling the way growly does. Although zazz has talked me into seeing how it goes. I was ok with two mods, who never ever seem to get involved in any forum crap, but then its not the case with all of them. I aint 'digging it' but will give it a few days before i throw in the towel, see what happens.

But well done to all you new mods ... it's obvious that Seattle wanted to change the model and I think it is great that you volunteered. I hope it all runs smoothly for you, and I am sure that you can count on the support of the forum to rally round you should anything untoward rear its ugly head

And ... you all look dead important with your new badges - I've been curtseying all night as I've been reading

I'm just thinking I never had any run ins before, and I'm not going to change, so I don't expect that aspect to change either.    It's our forum, we need to see how it goes, plenty time to jump ship if it proves necessary.  Or alternatively start a mutiny    i doubt anything will change.   Before BB....

Sorry, but weren't we told to desist with this sort of stuff?

'took a while to be accepted' could mean that it was 'a while' between applying to join the site and the go-ahead being given.

This is about as successful as it will ever get Supes

TBF Rexi, I do see a more positive side to this than 'Cameron's big society' Back in the day when I did groupwork, the aim would always be for the group to take responsibility for itself and I still believe in that. If we can't, amongst ourselves, sort petty arguments and silliness out, without some BBstyley 'headmaster' then that's a sad day for the 'grown-ups' on here. Yeah, we do maybe need a few calm minded and objective 'prefects' from time to time and that's what we've got. Yeah, they're self appointed, rather than elected, which may turn out to be a good or a bad thing, but tbf, can't imagine that there would have been too many others who would have had the time/inclination?

Totally agree supes - my comment was geared toward the wet wimpy man who represents me in the House of Commons

I have waaaay more respect for El, Fluffs, Jen, machel and lal than I do for him

At which point, I begin to change my mind about everything I have said on this internal mod' situation! Look back Fluffs, I'm one of the few that have been pragmatic and supportive throughout and I also suggested ^^^^ that  whoever was posting was q possibly someone pretendy being Real to cause trouble, (for you new mods!)

Hey Ho, baptism of fire!

Not you supes, but growly wasn't the only one .

All I was saying was that Seattle told us NOT to say this sort of thing in the threads, but to report it if we had real misgivings.

Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing

See...this is what so many feared, (not me strangely, I had more faith!).... Growly made a below the belt snipe at Fluffy on her way  out, absolutely no doubt about that.  A new member opportunistically appeared last night, looking to mix it, (no doubt about that in my mind either.) Yeah, I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt, keeping an open mind, giving people an xth chance etc, but Fluffs, I think that your response to me was influenced by you being p'd off with Growly

Because I didn't think it would serve any good purpose to quote growley's post again, but supes' quoting of the ' 'outing' as a parting shot' was the pertinent thing. I'm sorry I didn't say this before getting my badge, but it wouldn't have been any different.

meh, from where I am sat, and I never had a problem with this from the start, is that now people are thinking...and trust me, they are..."who the F*** does fluffy think she is all of a sudden?!" I think as much as we are meant to give it a chance, I think forum members deserve a bit of a break too, especially over this, Growly was  an old timmer from way back, its shit that shes been made to feel the way she has, without someone who has JUST been made mod, jumping in on something that would have gotten to a good few posts before anyone was jumped on for it!!

At which point, I have to say: no-one can be 'made' to feel anything. If you feel shit/downhearted about yourself then it's how you feel. Don't measure yourself against others, unless those others have qualities that you would like to have...then learn from them

So sad to no longer see a freaky John Mc avi (Growly) or an upside down smilie pink and green thing avi (Gypsie) on these forums

To them and anyone else feeling the same way.... may i ask you to just give a week? or even just a few days? I love this place and it's nothing with out it's members (that's genuinely the only reason i offered to help out)

With any big change there is going to be some uncertainty but i think if we are all willing to give it a shot and 'carry on as normal' it can work, there may be minor blips along the way but as a community we can get past those... i'm sure of it.

Perhaps we should all sleep on this - if we prove that we are unable to moderate our own forum without everyone falling out maybe Seattle will have second thoughts about giving us a home (if they haven't already).

Yes, I did think some of what growly said was a bit below the belt, but really it was only words.

However, punctuation....a colon is used to separate........

REALLY?!  LOL, I know about colons, I wanna know about when you stop doing colons and start doing ......It's this bloody internet!

Oh Soozy, of course we can...and if we can't, what a sad reflection on who we are as a group

Oh, you were actually meaning'....' and not just tailing off.

Well, one use of several dots is for tailing off, where you either expect your audience to know what the rest of the sentence would be or as an inference.

They can be used to separate statements, yet link them together at the same time. Like a lot of Soozy Woo's posts.

A row of dots is one thing ................ a row of commas - now that's something else entirely  I think that's heavy breathing TBH.

Hmmmm, let's see

........   ,,,,,,,,

No, nothing springs to mind, but I like the heavy breathing idea.

Thank you. It was nice of you to say that bit about being a mod.

I think Lori's on her own again.
