So - our gas fire was smelling a bit odd and with COVID we decided to use our electric heater over the winter.

That was a big mistake - we were getting estimated bills after our energy supplier changed and then we got an updated bill of Β£430 for the winter period.

Our last bill for the month was Β£40 - a bit of a difference

Not half❀️

When Specsavers makes my Dad buy a new frame for his updated lenses because ''they can't fit their lenses into another makers frames'' ....hence a further cost of over a hundred pounds despite the old frames costing that and more only a couple of years ago! Bast*rds!!

He bought his last pair from a private practice, and paid extra for a flexi frame (they can withstand being stood or sat on etc), but unfortunately they have closed because the guy died.
He went to spec savers as it is up town and just a short bus ride away......had the tests done then when it came to the frames he was then told about them not being able to accommodate his request, by this time he had been shifted from room to room, person to person and just wanted to come home to rest up.

I'm going with him when they are ready to collect

BOOTS this time,

Another company set up and ran for the benefit of the company - the "user led" philosophy didn't last very long.

That’s awful Renton Can you get another chemist to deliver ……I get my tablets delivered by a local chemist .

Hello We have our prescriptions on a regular repeat delivery so rarely have issues. To change suppliers is just not worth it - on the odd occasions we need sudden deliveries then a problem arises is rare but guaranteed to happen if we ask for something and it's not within their company 'remit'.

Seems to be the way these days

Placing folk on tv because the PC lot have said it should be so...
Am fed up of seeing certain people on my telly ...not because they have the qualifications or the apptitude/ability....but because it is the PC thing to do!
I take you back to Margaret Thatcher......first female prime minister.........Right on!
NO! she devastated our country!

We need to be cautious of the PC corrective...it's not always right! ..........just saying!

BBC's The Great Painting  Competition - what a load of rubbish and a shameless rip off of Sky's Landscape artist of the year.

Today was a hopeless journey into discovering the feel of the paint (whatever that means). They did this by using a pair of underpants to 'paint' leaves. Beggars belief. All the results throughout the show were pathetic - truly pathetic

And to make things worse all the senior citizens the BBC have so heartlessly stolen from is being used to fund . . .you got it Blankety Bloody Blank - money for old rope with the same old faces - they should be ashamed.

Joe public average pay being Β£29,600.....

I know it's a clichΓ©, but many of them could earn even more at commercial channels. GB News illustrated that: although Andrew Neil went from around Β£170,000 to Β£174,999 a year at the BBC to an estimated Β£700,000 at the new channel (a contract that's still valid, BTW...).

That's just crazy!

I believe in credit where credit is due but honestly where is the talent that deserves such a price?
(I quite like Andrew Neil)

No proportion whatsoever today
