Toyota has produced it's fair share of diesel engined cars

Suddenly their catch phrase is,

"We choose hybrid"

No you don't - cos hybrid is an option on around half the range

And some models are still diesel only

Ruddy fashion victims

I think you may have slightly misinterpreted their intention there Mr Saint. Given that Diesel is now the new 'evil' and that London has announced a new motoring tariff (which I can't remember the name of) and Oxford have said by 2030 they will only allow electric in the city centre, Toyota are using their hybrid range to lure in those that may be swayed into thinking they are a greener motor company and have a broader range of hybrids to choose from. Essentially they are trying to steal a march on other manufacturers and make as quick a buck as possible.

It's all about the money, money, money...

That was my point  - they are 'trying' to lure people in with a catch phrase

But not quite backing up their claim with choice

To be fair, they have a decent range of hybrids and are probably better placed than most companies to exploit their experience. One of my colleagues drive a hybrid Auris and I was impressed with it on the few occasions I have been in it. Another has just bought an all electric Ioniq by Hyundai, who I believe are going into electric and electric hybrids in a big way.

I must say their range 'is' impressive

But what impresses me more is their venture into hydrogen fuel cell in the MIRAI - this is the future, not battery.

So well done Toyota

I too keep glancing at the Mirai hoping for more pricing details. Not looked in the last few months. I understand there is work going on somewhere in Sheffield on Hydrogen Fuel Cells. I would defo like to see this technology move forward.

that made me laugh

I've only been in a betting shop twice in my life - and that was accompanying old guys I had to support at work.

The shop was full of men yet staffed by women - odd

It was a bloody miserable experience of quiet disappointment - over and over.

... and when they weren't betting these guys were sloshing money into some electronic one armed bandit.

BTW I won ÂĢ2.90 on an old nag that came in second

I know what you mean because it's creeped on terrestrial TV too.

I must say though, I don't have Sky, will never have Sky. I don't like the company one bit. I know I am missing out on live Formula One, but that's the price I have to pay I guess. But I really hate Sky. It sounds like I am not missing out on the mass betting adverts.

To pick up on Saint's post, I have never been in a betting shop, never bet on-line. The closest I have come to gambling is having the odd lottery ticket, but not been buying them in years either.

Yep, this TV ad betting thing gets to me. And if only the government didn't make as much money out of it, it wouldn't be allowed.

Having said that   I think I've been in a betting shop about 4 times since I was old enough to. I get my brother to do the Irish Lottery for me and the Grand National, and even he does that online I think

I do do the lottery both Tuesday's, Wednesday's Friday's and Saturday's only because I'm desperate to get out of the rat race

Well I’ve never even heard of her

She has done quite a lot and is a half decent actress but IMO she is over hyped.
