They change the curtains and cushions according to the season
And thinking about it ... I like that idea - totally changing the ambience of a room - just like the seasons change.
I could have been an interior designer - if I could have been bothered

My mam used to clean the house from top to bottom....and I mean deep clean and change the curtains and stuff before a decoration or tinsel went up at Christmas (the week before)

I used to support a disabled bloke who had very little money.
He was forever rearranging his room.
Now I wonder if he was trying to create a new theme/look to his room without having to pay for it?
And he was quite successful - his room always seemed to look different
