I think I may make a new thread called FAKE NEWS

Everything is hyped to make a kinda relevant yet dull story kinda sensational - if not epic.

Want an example? ok then ... recent headlines that caught my eye.

"Have you noticed the lack of insects stuck to your car?" ... about the lack of insects this year.

"Expect an influx of insects into your home as the cold snap begins"

Hold on a minute!!! You can't  have it both ways!!!

Foxes in bedrooms - now zero foxes go there - apparently

AND ... we're all going to die - didn't you know - yep

Aids ... well not really erm ....

SARS ... nope ...

Bird Flu - Ebola - The Plague. All were to end humanity

Guess what - it didn''t

Humans are bloody idiots

Kim Jong-un

This will definitely kill us, no doubt. The man is unstable in the extreme.

Amusingly, Wikipedia don't seem to be able to pin down his age:

born 8 January 1982–84 or 5 July 1984

From last year,

"Swarms of mating spiders to invade Tyneside homes and lay hundreds of eggs"

Rubbish - it never happened.

And again from last year,

"First it was the giant spiders, now the daddy longlegs invasion is coming. Insect charity Buglife have said to expect around 200 billion of the insects to hatch throughout the season with giant varieties also heading north because of the change in climate."

Did anyone see a 'giant' daddy longlegs last year - anyone?

No?  Hmmmm

From 2010

"The fox attacked the girls on their arms and faces.... the shocking story spread around the globe, triggering a new panic about urban foxes."

Anyone else been hospitalised by a rabid fox since 2010??

Thought not

ME!!!

I was slapped by a foxy lady following an indiscreet remark.

And I bet you enjoyed it

Estimated delivery dates for after you've had a few days off work

Hi Sprout. I was literally about to write to see if anyone had seen you. I don't think I have seen you around in some time. I may be wrong. I was looking at another thread and noticed that your account did not exist.

Hope you are OK.

...and yes, I agree about delivery dates too.

Attention seeker Hawkings is on the telly box debating if we should de-camp to another planet.

Bloody moron

We have vast resources here - the technology to adapt ... all we lack is the need.

In other words, we will learn to live in harmony when we really need to.

We can't even land on a planet AND there's nothing wrong with him, there you go

We won't ... and that's the fundamental flaw in Hawkins argument

That and having failed to develop any meaningful manned technology to even leave our galaxy

How come Always say that there are 3 billion women out there and they are all different,  and that they deserve a pad that's unique to them, yet they only make four different pads?

That's cos there are other manufacturers out there too, making their version

Small, medium, large and 'you need to lose weight'

We will, it's happening now. And you clearly have no idea.

If memory serves me right, you yourself complained about the amount of pollution that aeroplanes put out not so long ago

Yes really

As technology develops we will move forward greener and greener and more in harmony with the planet ... cos we have to

It's the Mother of invention

So why haven't we done it up to now?   Cos a lot of people don't care, not just about about themselves, but also about the generations that come after them...a bit like Brexit really

We are - look around

Recycling is one small example plus wind turbines - you must have seen.

Electric car, banning diesel, reliance on fossil fuel etc etc . . . .

It's not happening quick enough though, and not enough people are in on the idea......

Sprouty seems to think we're interested in Uranus

I think she has a point tbf

Of course there is a concern

But I think we're panicking for no reason

Look back 10yrs compared to today - the changes are commendable - and we need to continue
