You may be right you may be wrong. I'm just sick of the Tories getting hammered on here whilst Labour enjoy a free ride.

Sorry if I've offended anyone.

The last time I looked Velvet, the tories are the ones in Government and not Labour. As long as they continue to  a) sanction people to the point of people dying or committing suicide because they can no longer feed themselves. b) Stop housing benefit for the 16-25 year olds if they are thrown out of the family home, have no family, or if they for no fault of their own had to leave home for their own safety only to be made homeless. c) Cut funding to the NHS, stop nurses bursaries. d) Cheat in 31 constituencies to win a general election. e) When homelessness and the use of food banks are at unprecedented rates whilst continually giving tax breaks to the richest in society. I will continue to criticise this government and believe it or not if it were a Labour government treating people this way I would criticize them too... When the BBC repeatedly continue to not correct statements or alter interviews like Laura Kuenssberg and was found to be guilty of, I will criticise her too.

Sorry if I offend anyone with my answer too!

CRIMEWATCH - they fiddled with it.

Changed the presenters, constantly changing locations, format and dates and now it won't be back til the summer!!

How very dare they interfere with a national treasure!!

They didn't, I'm fine.

You're both national treasures, but which one is best? There's only one way to sort this out.....fiiiiiiiight

Some Police Commissioner blokie talking on Look North News just now,

"No the level of alert has not been increased as we do not believe the threat has increased in Darlington"

Of course it hasn't increased in Darlington yer numpty - few people know where it is never mind care.

We have signs around the building where I work and they have been in a state of 'Heightened' for as long as I can remember.

To be honest Roger it's not that bad. We are aware and most people are vigilant and quick to challenge anything that seems out of the ordinary or out of character. You just have to live your life.

But does that carpet challenge, does it push the design envelope?

It's minimalist, yes but it's richness comes from its stark honesty

An honesty we can all learn from

I'm also a teapot

That line reminded me of a scene from a little known (the remake was nowhere near as good) film that I have loved for years and no one seems to have heard of.

Anyway, this guy is trying to ingratiate himself with the parents of a young, hot daughter (Cybil Shepherd). During the mean he comes out with some pretentious twaddle. Her father says nothing until he gets him in his study for a 'chat'.

Correct

Did you watch the clip?

I used to try and use some of it in meetings.

And did it work?

Oh no, I knew it would not work as my intention was only to be slightly mischievous. The reaction is usually one of

Yes, I was watching a programme that focused on children as young as 10 hanging around streets, drinking alcohol.

What is their excuse?

"There is nothing for us, no where to go, nothing to do".

Would it be so hard to pick up a book and read, get some mates together and play sport, develop an interest in say painting. Volunteer to help in the community, clean gardens for the elderly, take up astronomy, join a choir, grow fruit and veg, learn the history of your city, town or community. take up classes at your local school or college, learn to cook.

Man, there are so many things you can do in life. This constant complaining that the council don't provide things for them to do gets right on my nerves. When I was a kid we did all sorts of things, never bored and quite happy to try many different things. Not reliant on the council doing things for us.

We did not have pots of money, so made most of our own fun when we could not afford to go swimming or to the cinema.

The problem with kids these days is that a lot of them think they are entitled to have everything given to them on a plate. They don't seem to have the ingenuity or compunction to go and make your own entertainment. They need to stop complaining.
