Cos Carers Allowance is paid once and "is not a wage" I was told, "It's to meet your needs".

Basically you can 'run around for two just the same as one', ie, shop once for two people, collect meds for two etc ...

If a different person was carer for my Dad they could get Carers Allowance - but I can't get it twice.

AND he doesn't get Mobility Allowance even though he's in a wheelchair cos he didn't become disable til AFTER 65yrs of age!!

So apparently if you're over 65 you don't have needs to meet

Whaaaat? That's shocking, a total disgrace!

Poor Saint

Tactically you vote for the strongest opposition.

So who's your strongest opposition to a Tory government?

I'm quite happy with Theresa. She exudes class and winds Wee Noddy up. The latter dragged up through a hedge. Govanhill's fair improved since she got in.

So,you're quite happy with this government praying on the sick, the elderly, the infirm, those that haven't got much of a chance in this life with this government? and as for class....you need to think again Velvet

I've tried really hard to ignore this post but I can't.

I hope it wasn't intentional, Sprout, but your post comes across as patronising and sanctimonious.

Velvet is one of the kindest hearted FMs on here, so to imply he is bereft of sympathy for the sick and elderly is not on.

I'm sure most of us have the same aims for our society, even if we don't agree on the ways and means of achieving those aims.

This place is like a big squabbling family sometimes. Its a serious subject but let's not fall out please?

I've turned my W.U.M. detector on, and its beeping furiously in Velvet's direction

I have to agree Velvet   When JC first came to the forefront  I wasn't sure if he was purely naive , or just arrogant ....but I have come to the conclusion that he is the latter.  Mercifully I don't think he and his cronies will ever get into power .....although I thought that about Trump, so..........but if they do then I think his supporters will be very disappointed , cos despite his  rhetoric I think his actions over the last year suggest that he is as power hungry and self serving as any other politician .
