To answer the OP first: no, I never worry about the banstick, but then I find I don't really need to as I'm (still) a natural lurker, and incredibly
self-censoring. I've often started a post (and sometimes even
completed one) only to have a change-of-mind and ditch it.
Having said that...

The more I hear about other FMs' experiences, the more surprised I am that I never got banned. It's not that I ever posted anything (IMO) particularly bad; it's just that, as Soozy says, the misdemeanours that
were punished were often so trivial and random.
I
did have a few posts blocked, usually because I'd cut-and-pasted articles from the BBC News pages without appreciating that C4 were a lot less tollerant of strong language than the BBC...
There was also the memorable time when I posted a question for Charley to answer on an upcomng radio show: I wanted to know how she could descibe the N-word as something that should never been used, when she herself was given a formal warning for using it twice in the house. That post got pulled without warning. I complained on the sticky that it had been 100% factually accurate, and contained no offensive material, and the thread's OP asked me to repost. When I did, it got pulled again!
Another funny one was when one of my posts got
censored. The first half of my post, which referred (I think) to Dawn's treatment by BB - again, all comments accurate and verifiable
- mysteriously disappeared, while the rest of the post remained intact...
