Try to ignore the jokes, they will never take away what MJs brought to the music world. Its the end of an era for some of us Frowner

I second this ... Thumbs Up

I wouldn't call myself a fan, but it doesn't take very much to show a little bit of respect ... especially at this time ... Nod
Clapping MJ was such a star and deserves a great send off.

Like I said before, I think a lot of people did not realise how much they liked him. Smiler

Here One Day
Gone One Night

Like A Sunset
Dying With The Rising Of The Moon

I think that's probably very true ...

We are all privileged to have lived in Michael Jackson's time. Future generations will envy us for being alive at the same time. I am of the generation that spawned The Beatles. Michael Jackson is comparable to The Beatles. Michael Jackson is the only one in 37 years to have come anywhere near The Beatles in terms of longevity. And pure genius.

I think that's probably very true ...[/QUOTE] Me too Smiler I always thought he was OK, and quite liked him, but it's only since he died that I realised how gosh darned amazing he really was. He was very eccentric and all that, and his personal life was plagued with controversy, but he was such a genius. And let's face it, who is perfect? All the people who judged him and said bad things about him probably ain't so perfect! Smiler

How so? I'm watching bbc2 just in case other channels had ad breaks.

I'm watching channel 5, and there hasn't been any breaks.

As I said before, he is one of the last of a dying breed of people who were real megastars and world class performers. I can't think of anyone spawned from THIS decade who is in the same class as Elvis., the Beatles, MJ, Frank Sinatra, and so on and even madonna, Mariah, Celine and many many others.

And the charts are not the same. I remember the time when you remembered where you were when a certain song was number one, and what holiday you were on, and who you were dating and where you were working....

And we all used to bundle together in the school grounds around the radio waiting to see what was number one, and albums used to sell 10s of millions, and singles were number one for months; that rarely happens now Frowner

MJ was from an era that will never be repeated. I feel sorry for people under 21 now as they have never and WILL never know what we knew Thumbs Up
