clutter is the bain of my piggin life!!!!

it just regenerates..

I should have had ornaments...   it would have taken up the space my messy lot use for piles of clutter...

one day they will be grown up & moved out..     I am gonna order the most enormous skip available & have a whole week of chucking all the cluttery crap in it

there was a whole lot less clutter in our house before MrD moved in      He won't have any of it..    but its true..    he is a hoardy cluttery person

Listen pal ...

I see your relatively uncluttered settee and raise you 2 cellars, a loft, a conservatory and a front room... there's more but I am holding them in reserve in case you increase your stake!!

Bunns now listen up...I'm calmer than what I used to be... I was bordering on obsessive

I've slowed down the older I am  My daughter keeps saying the lived in look is in fashion and I'm trying hard to go with the flow  and she's just a lazy mare, she's not fooling me

I think I was OCD once, I used to wipe blobs of water off the sink... the sink was clean, the blobs of water were there as a result of cleaning it, but I used to wipe them up

I have a box with old buttons in it which I inherited off my Gran. The collection was started just "in case" someone lost a button and one of the buttons in the box just might match the lost button. No-one, ever lost a button that could be replaced from the collection.

At my cousin's husband's funeral this year, I discovered that my cousin also has such a box

There was also a story about how, when they had moved house they woefully underestimated how many boxes they would need (cos she is a hoarder and was married to a fellow hoarder who couldn't throw out tools) and in the end they had to leave so much behind on the day of the move that her kids had to make multiple car journeys helping to deliver the rest of it.

So, it is an inherited trait and therefore........ not my fault

Good luck with your daughter

That;s my sister!  Gorgeous home, not a thing out of place and if you eat a biscuit you eat it over a paper towel so as not to spill crumbs!

My house is well decorated but messy as hell when the kids can't get out to play.  Toys and books everywhere and nearly every room has a toybox which is more often empty than full because they pull everything out at onece   When they're at school and the OH is at work it's tidy but come 3pm it all goes south.

I don't have ornaments/books/things on counters but don't dare open any cupboards

I have kept all the carp out of Christmas Crackers  for the grandkids to fiddle with tho

Yeah, me too!

My cousin is quite arts and crafty - I suggested she uses them to create pictures or something - she certainly isn't going to throw them away so she may as well!
