I made 4 dozen last year - 3 dozen of them are still in the freezer

For me they have to warmed up, with lots of cream, best I had last year were Tesco finest range.  Got plenty ordered, but they aren't in the house yet

Low - Waitrose do a pack of 'bite size' Stollen costing £2.99. They lasts about 10 minutes in this house

Homemade are the best left to cool slighlty with a huuuuuuuuge dollop of Devons finest clotted cream!...Mmmmm num nums!!

my Mums mince pies were to die for - well anything pastry - she made the crumbliest melt in your mouth pastry i have ever tasted 

I am still trying to match her pastry and do make my own - I doctor the mincemeat up for a couple of weeks with a few tots of brandy or sherry

I eat them either warmed or as they are out of the storage tin

Oh MrsH. I was watching the The Hairy Bikers make mince pies on the Food channel last night, I think it was They put loads of 'special liquid' in theirs too

it seems to be a trait of mine - someone commented in my christmas cooking blog - your recipes are booze related

a woman I used to work with made the best mince pies I've ever tasted - she said her secret ingredient in the pastry was vinegar  I was a bit sceptical but they sure did taste nice

I had a very nice one in Debenhams coffee shop the other day - it had a star of pastry on top!
