my Mums mince pies were to die for - well anything pastry - she made the crumbliest melt in your mouth pastry i have ever tasted 

I am still trying to match her pastry and do make my own - I doctor the mincemeat up for a couple of weeks with a few tots of brandy or sherry

I eat them either warmed or as they are out of the storage tin
