One of my best mates hung himself, and I havd so many emotions over it. Firstly, I saw him a few days previously, and I knew there was something wrong, but I never imagined that. So I feel crap cos I didn't press him to talk to me. But on the other hand I am also mad at him for doing that and letting someone that loved him find him like that.

One of my best mates hung himself, and I havd so many emotions over it. Firstly, I saw him a few days previously, and I knew there was something wrong, but I never imagined that. A very good friend of mine did the same. He was troubled and suffering with a couple of demons and despite a lot of friends trying to help him he clearly decided to take his own life.
I often think about him when I do certain activities which he loved and we shared from time to time.
My granddaughter's father was going to kill himself quietly with pills and booze, but his brother disturbed him, so he ran off. Within 10 minutes the village was full of police, fire brigade and ambulances. He was eventually cornered in the old graveyard and practically hanged himself in front of them all. My daughter still rails (sp) against him, but I think he must have been in the worst state imaginable to reject all those who wanted to help him.

During my short time in the Smamritans i watched a man get his stomach pumped and the tough way the hospital treated him.
I visited a lady who had all her tablets spread out on a table whilst her son slept upstairs.
I could never agree with the claim suicide is a cowards way out.
For me it takes a brave, brave soul to take that final step.
Someone I knew quite well was always very vociferous on the subject of suicides, calling those who took their own lives selfish etc, getting quite irate on the subject. She, too, ended her own life.

They do face-to-face chat/counselling, too.
Yes and call outs in special circumstances.
I'm glad they decided to call off the tour. Carrying on as normal would really have come across as blaze.
