I've got four years to go then, he is getting better but there are some things he just doesn't get and I'm not sure he ever will. Caught between a rock and a hard place with him in a way, they want him to do his Oxbridge exams and take his A levels early for entry to university.  Problem is academically he is ready socially he is not.

Got to love him though he is gorgeous

I think we talked about this a year or so ago....  as you may remember... Ickle was never diagnosed with anything... but as you also may remember I could see the traits...  its like they get given academic intelligence but something else has to be given up as a consequence.

Things dramatically improved for her when she started grammar school... to be amongst others that worked at her level & ability....  where she could flourish.

I think perhaps uni may be the place where your boy will suddenly find others like him...  instead of always feeling "different"... trying desperately to fit the mould of the other kids..

but Uni at 16 seems to young you know,
oh god.... its horrible from a mum's perspective...  losing them at 16....  and this year has been tough!

BUT... she seems more settled... more back to her old self now.  And I am glad she's boarding, cos its like a halfway house for when she goes to uni, and will not have any adult looking out for her.

Its harder on us than them I think Menty
