Awww! Poor sickle Ickle!  But yayyyy Ickle for getting to grips with some tough decisions! 

As regards the Oxford thing, I tend to agree with what most here seem to feel. Oxford may be a wasted choice for the reasons people have said. Tbh, it could affect her Imperial offer as Trixy says... they consider themselves (and probably are) superior an institution to Oxbridge when it comes to the sciences. If she is really set on getting an offer from Imperial it might be better to reconsider this.

With all the pressure on uni places with the forthcoming uni funding cuts it's going to be quite cut-throat, which may work in her favour however, as they will all want to grab the best students anyway.

My bruv is a lecturer on Biochem at Imperial, as I've told you. So if he's still got a job come 2012 I may be in a position to give you a clearer picture nearer the time. Btw Ditty, if she's taking a Gap Yah, does she have to do the applications now?

On my last year at College already, time flies.

Thanks supes    and thanks Ditty  . The job is with a company based at a local  University, I don't know if I can mention the name but they research and develop products that are then used in human skin and bone grafts in order to treat spinal, dental and sport injuries. I will be starting out in the clean room, working in the operations dept, but there is obviously the chance for me to then move on to the research dept once I get the lab experience. I'm so happy, I am currently writing my letter of notice for Alton Towers which I get to hand in tomorrow haha. I only had my second interview yesterday, with a practical test, and they let me know 3 hours later.

She's removed the Oxford choice Xochi...   I saw my parents this afternoon and was talking to my Mum about it all.    My Mum works for a Consultancy run by Ickles first ever Head Mistress...  from her Infant School  (she was one of the people that identified Ickles gift for maths)... so she always asks how she is doing.

Anyway.. coincidentally she had asked my Mum on Thursday if Ickle had made her uni decisions... and my Mum said she was seriously considering CHem Engineering...   possibly at some uni in London (my mum couldn't remember the name of it)..    her boss said "Imperial?  Its THE place for her to do Chem Engineering...  the best place"

So...  hearing this yet again...  she has replaced Oxford with Leeds Uni...   no point risking everything for a place at a uni she doesn't actually want to go to!   Aw.. I hope his job is safe Xoch

  Yes apparently so.   IF the wish for a gap yah turned out to be a negative thing... then I think she would give it up...    HOwever.... her reasons for wanting a gap yah are sound I think.   She decided she wanted one 3 years ago when she made the decision to work her ass off til her A Levels were done.   The Chem Eng course is a MEng... so a 4 year course...  she just wants a year to have little job...  have a little fun...  do some of the things she has wanted to do but sacrificed to studying (she would like to get her "competent crew" so she can then do some crewing in her spare time) etc.

So...   what's happened this time then?

Spending too much time at the other woman's place...   and getting indignant when pulled up on it....   then, bringing things to a head a third female enters the stage...   discovered either by way of illicit text messages...  OR...  cos she turned up on the doorstep hollering "gerroff my man"?

Basically ...... she has (obviously ) been wary since finding out where hed been living, but he managed to convince her (or at least give her grounds for reasonable doubt ) she was just a friend and nothing was going on, he was just using the spare room.

After they got back from their holiday in Spain, he was supposed to be only working days, but the first day back he was suddenly called to work overnight.  While he was gone, she looked at his mobile phone (he'd left it behind because he thought it was broken) and found messages between him and his friend, bragging about having two women on the go....and how he'd managed to see both of them on the same night etc.

So that was that.

All she needed was absolute proof that he couldn't talk himself out of.......now she's got it she's fine. Last time, there was doubt, and she was an emotional wreck. This time, she's positively glowing!! She says it's like a huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders.....and she couldn't give a toss about the bastard.

TRANSLATION: the other woman did not know about the holiday & he needed to get round there asap to appease her! 

Now that would be fab!

However..

If you are gonna text your mate bragging about it then either delete after every text in & text sent OR put a bloody PIN no. on your phone!

See...   I often get accused of forgiving the unforgiveable...   but going batshit mental over the "small stuff".....    this may be true...   cos I find the fact that he left his phone there...   with these texts on it...  in her house...  no pin no. just an out & out insult to her intelligence!

The holiday was good I think. The split happened Monday night, I know it's still early days....... but it's completely different this time Ditty. She just calmly packed his stuff up, told him to come and collect it, and even though he has tried to contact her since, she won't have any of it.

I've been very sceptical too all week, but after seeing her tonight and seeing the difference between this time and the last.....I'm totally convinced this is it.

She also found out he met this woman within weeks of the beginning of their relationship, so she knows now it's been going on all along.

I've always been shocked by the way she's let this man treat her, as she's a bloody strong woman normally, and bloody clever too! Certainly not a pushover.........normally The old her was back tonight.  Not a tear was shed..... just lots of "how the hell did I not see it".

To be fair......... she had slung it full pelt across the garden in a previous argument about the other woman....... it was in numerous pieces. She put it back together again in a super human feat fuelled by frustration.

OK....   there is hope then! 

Prob is blokes like this have a gift... a bloody gift...   for managing to pick the ONE bad day you are having...   to come crawling back and promise you the moon & the stars!   Its uncanny.

Also... she is riding high on the winds of the righteous..   & of the "clever girl"...  for reassembling his phone... and it paying dividends.!


Many many years ago..   with Ickles Dad..   when he first cheated on me (during the last six months of the relationship) it was with a bird he worked with at a new job in London.    We split up for a couple of weeks.. then he came back to me (but was never the same again after that).   A month or two later I started to suspect things again...   but he made out I was being paranoid.  Nearly drove me insane it did.    Til one evening, when he had gone out I sat there and casually glanced at his briefcase..    it had never crossed my mind to look in it before.. but for some reason I tried to.    It was locked... and the combo had changed!  (number combination).

Randomly..  I put in my parents landline no.   (6 digits).. . and PING it opened!  

Lo & behold inside it were nasty cringeworthy letters from her...  & films worth of photos of her... posing for him..   nekkid...  & doing interesting things with various household items.

I removed the photos...  closed the briefcase  & put it back, & I rang my bessie mate..     we wrote the tarts name on the back of every photo ...  drove to her home town (Canvey Island)...   and put photos everywhere..  phone boxes, MacDonalds toilets, in amongst the mags & papers in the newsagents...  

To this day he has never asked me about those pictures!

Revenge is sweet Pity there weren't pictures of him as well though

I wasn't quite "there" at the time...    

I was young...  and stupid...  & in my head it was all her fault!  Doh!

Though... she had slagged me off in the letters!

This story is very frustrating!

I want to know who saw the pictures......whether she ever found out........ what the household items were

Actually no, forget the last one. It's probably best I don't know

I dunno if anyone saw them... if she every found out etc!
