Hi Darlo Whose Ben Duncan? I'm confuddled.

Evening Zaph.

Today was easy peasy cos I haven't had to do anything yet.

BUT......... I was asked at lunchtime to be a Head of House too...... in our staff structure it doesn't mean much extra work, but it does mean doing assemblies for the House.....and....and ....and.... being in charge of six form tutors and running the meetings and stuff........AND....AND ....AND...... I checked which six staff it will be, and they are mostly all the people I socialise with the most......PLUS ....Mr Geog!

AND...AND....AND........!!!!!! Many of them are the ones who sit in the staff room at lunch time and rip anyone with any responsibility to SHREDS!!!!!!

I'm trying not to panic at the thought of doing my first EVER assembly in front of the very people I have heard slag off every Head of House assembly for the past two years.

*breaths rapidily into a paper bag*

Noooooooooo! Don't make that face at me Ditty!

I need you to tell me it's all gonna be fine!!!!

Oh dear god.

It will be fine. It will! I'll just have to keep reminding myself they are sat in the staffroom bitching at lunch time for a very good reason......... they've got too much time on their hands cos they're not doing their job properly.

I did have a bit of a panic when I found out who was in my house though..... it just really couldn't have been any worse.

I'm with Ditty, Ducky ... a touch of heart hardening and if that fails.. subtle kicks to the shins

Kicks to the shins could work.

I can see I'm going to have to make a swift change of allegiance........ I'm quite friendly with one of the other Head of House's .......I shall make him my best friend by 3.25pm tomorrow.

It will be ok Ducky...   kinda

Thing is...  they sound like moaners...   like people who whinge about the stuff their manager/head of team has to do as part of the overall job.. .   but they refuse to see that side of it.

Add to that you used to be "one of them"..   you will probably get all the "since she got that job...", "thinks she better than us now...", "she's changed"  crap...

BUT you won't actually give a toss anymore..    cos you will be seeing them from the other perspective and will be quite happy to haul their work dodging gossipy arses through the hot coals!

I recommend....  weaponary
hahahaha!

Yeah... manys the time I fantasised about taking some kind of firearm in to work with me... especially during appraisal week

I have been through it too Ducks...   only it was worse for me..     I worked in amongst a team of 8 middle aged wimmin (hrt a plenty )...   got plucked out of the team on a secondment to the big boss (leaving them short staffed for a year)..  & when I returned it was to a new post where they answered directly to me!

Didn't matter how much I changed to improve their working lifes...   twas never enough...  they were never happy...   and within 6 months I wouldn't have wanted to socialise, chat, exchange pleasantries with them if they were the last people on the planet!
