Its gonna depend on the what the uni say I reckon...   she wants the gap year.. but not at the expense of getting on the course she wants!

Ooh that sounds fab for Ickle Ditty, some of my friends are at uni now and love it.

Just popped in to say big well done to ickle that is blimming amazing!

And ION I hate Alton Towers, they have messed up my employment rather royally so that for the past 2 days all I have been able to do is clean for 10 hours each day. On tuesday I came home in tears and scared my mummy half to death and then left for work on wednesday in tears. But I have an interview today for a proper job, a proper job that I am so excited about that I will be mega happy if I get it.

She's a poorly girl this morning... her tonsils are revolting (quite literally)...   they are HUGE blobby mounds that are almost touching.  Soooooo...  rang the GP to try to get a quack to see her...  the moment I mentioned "picked her up from Heathrow yesterday" they went into a flat spin panic (I think they were thinking "EMBOLA" or something ) but then they couldn't find her on their system (despite her having been there before).

Turns out cos she is at boarding school she is automatically transferred to the GP that covers her school...  and that if she wants to see a GP at home she is treated as a temporary resident...  and given all this they said "take her to the Walk in Centre".

How bloody stupid... you'd think that out of term time she would automatically revert to being back at her home GP!

So, hubby is gonna take her up there in a minute!

Aww Ditty hope she's feeling better

she's feeling pretty crap Darlo... 

but they've given her anti-biotics ...    they usually start to kick in after about 24 hrs...   in the meantime I have her tucked up on the sofa... with her pillow..   ben & jerry's, co-codamol, strepsils, and I am making her some homemade veggie soup!

I really sympathise with Ickle. I had my tonsils out when I was 5 but they'd grown back enough to give me loads of trouble again by the time I was 17

poor Ickle ........tonsilitis is horrible. As you say though the anti biotics do start
working quite quikly.

Nothing can take the shine off her fab results though!

WHAT??

I had mine out when I was 12.   I used to be really ill for months every year with it... everytime I got to the top of the tonsilectomy waiting list I actually had tonsilitus ...  in the end they put me on the semi urgent list.

I have had it twice since I had them out...  but in my (now empty) tonsil pits!!

I am now gonna be on regrown tonsil watch!

She feels (& looks) like crap...    but underneath all that..  life is good!   I like it when its like this!   I can "do stuff" about tonsilitis..   I am less effective when it comes to teen social stuff! (well.. I could be really effective...  but she usually won't let me! )

I don't know how they do it now, but when they did the op on me (back in the Dark Ages ) they basically just shaved off part of the tonsils, which is how they grew back over time.
