Can't you get one of those pre-paid certificate thingies?
I don't think I can...  cos its for painkillers & its supposedly short term.   Hubby has an exemption certificate for his diabetes meds...   I just have to stump up the fees.

I had to have an MRI once and it wasnt very pleasant
oooh!  I don't imagine it to be either.    What was the worst bit?   Being in the tube?   or was there pain involved?

It didnt hurt, and it might be different now coz I had mine when I was at university so about 15 years ago. They put you in a gown and you go on this platform and it moved you into the tube and there is a little mirror above your head so you can look at your eyes, they had a radio playing but when the scan starts it's like you are in a metal bin and someone is hitting it with a stick. Really loud banging. And I am no good at keeping still. The nurse told me to think of something nice and concentrate on it....all I could think about was this fella called Chris who I was having a thing with and what we had done after the Charity Shield

It felt like I was in there for ages but am sure it just felt longer than it was.

I've known some people who've had one (including my boyfriend) who've said it was fine. Others not so. For myself, I'd prefer not to hear from others before I go in to something like that.

my only other point of reference for them has been seeing them go spectacularly wrong on "House"

I reckon I can deal with the "tube" thing....   it shouldn't kick in my kind of clausrophobia... on account of their being abundant oxygen inside & outside the tube...   I ain't gonna drown or suffocate!

my only worries now are the metal pins & rod in my arm...  & my engagement & wedding ring... which I haven't been able to get off for years...   I was deffo slimmer when I got married!

ta Saz...    I am feeling better about it now...   twas the initial "stomach drop" reaction...  I was just getting myself mentally geared up to going in on the 7th...    so when that call came it sent me into a flat spin panic again.

I am feeling better now...   I tend to react strongly to stuff like this.. but I calm down quite quickly too!

back to sticking my head in the sand and not thinking about it for a while now...  til the MRI date comes through!

hahaha!

Son's tub was emptied within 24 hours!   I even let him have a couple of scoops out of mine this morning.

The rest is all mine....  all mine for tonight!!!  I am even going to let it sit for ten mins before diving in (saves me clearing up chunks of melting ice cream from the walls....  result of chiselling out rock hard ice cream...  it goes catapulting everywhere!)
