feckin Virgin.....

I don't mind that their internet went down....  shit happens...   I DO mind that they didn't have a bloody great banner going over the top of their homepage saying "broadband is down in E.Anglia & the South East"....

cos...  though my bro initially checked their site...   we then spent 2 hours faffing around before, when looking for a phone no. to phone them...  he found.. in teeny teeny writing...  in the bowels of their website a little notice about it.

in the meantime...  I reset my router to factory settings

so... pain in the arse having to reconnect everyone (they are all sooo STOOOOPID)...

plus side.... is I can now get into my router management screen... for the first time in 4 years (cos I had forgotten my previous password!)

so, now when the neighbours all pile on channel 11... I can move!!!

mr ditty is discussing his office politics...    he is part of a team of 3 blokes, then the team leader (woman)... then the manager (woman)... then the big boss (bloke).

Big boss has been giving hubby special projects...    Manager loves hubby for this..   hubby THINKS this is all A OK with the team leader...

(ok... there is alot of other little things that have been said & done)...

I can't seem to make him understand female bitchy politics...  female "threatened in the workplace & therefore do not trust her as far as you can throw her" politics...

Its in his favour that he is oblivious to it all..   he tells me something.. and I get the subtext straight away...   he only see's the surface... and is happily going about his day... in ignorant bliss.

Tis probably the best way.....      but I need him to understand...

TRUST NO-ONE...   especially a team leader who is only two levels above you, who he is outshining in a big way...    do not trust her with anything!

mebbe you should go and 'warn' her Ditty
she's fecking scary MrsB...

she is a caricature of the female public sector low..low..low management/supervisor level.

butch, in a non intentional way...    and really crap at her job.

she gossips!!   she tells the others about stuff said in appraisals!   and her and the manager ... both gossip & bitch about each other...     twice hubby has been the recipient of this bitching...  but he just sits there and says nothing (usually quite shocked at the indiscretion of it)...

he's lucky he's a bloke...  he can get away with it!

Best thing he can do to avoid permanently looking over his shoulders it to feed her some fab idea that she can tell the manager is her idea.. she gets browny points and has a quiet debt to hubby...sorted
ha ha ha

too late for that...

big boss loves hubby...    he now goes to hubby for info if he goes into their office... and twice has strolled in... up to hubby... asked him to look into something for him...   write a report on it and attend a meeting with him to present the findings!

the good news is...   manager is high enough above hubby to be able to get glory from his achievements...    its the team leader that I KNOW he has to be careful about...    he just doesn't see it!

So big boss doesn't respect the conventional 'chain of command' then...bypassing the team leader won't bring a smile to her face
tbh...    there isn't really much need for a team leader....    her job desc is flimsy... and she knows it.

the big boss has always managed to justify going to hubby... cos the issues are in hubbies "area"...

its making my head hurt talking about it all with him though...  too many bad memories for me.

(and... lines of accountability are good and should nearly always be upheld...   as long as the line goes from the right bit to the right bit .    My mare job in the NHS...   I had to answer to two thick lines of accountability & three dotted lines...    and none of them liked each other!)
