I've had my one ear pierced!  I feel all brave. I didn't scream, cry or grab the womans hand and break her fingers.

is it all hot now?

Nah, not really. And it was painless at the time too.  I have a superhuman earlobe

I've just read back my first post....and for those not in the know I DO have an earring in BOTH ears. I just needed one of them re-piercing.

So... you ran screaming before the second ear then?

And you went to an actual person? I know you're supposed to but I always just heated some water and held to my ear before shoving the jewellery through

I've done that in the past when it's just closed up at the back or something.... but It was totally and utterly closed,....plus I am a total wimp.

Grab a stud (ideally one that was used for piercing... cos they have a pointy bit) take a deep breath and shove it through.

Getting through the skin at the back of the ear is always the hard bit

Haha I'm just naughty I even did it with my Belly button after that closed up.

It's that point where you can actually hear the skin breaking that gets me

Daughters belly button piercing went manky...  but as I told her when she was getting it done... I can't go there...  too squeamish!

She's been back to the body piercer who said it has to have a couple of months to heal more, and then she will redo it for her

((shudders))

its at that point that I give a battlecry and go hell for leather and ram the bloody thing through!

I wasn't exaggerating! If I'd done the shove it through method it would have been like shoving it through an unpierced ear!

I haven't worn an earring in it for 15 years!

I can't wear earrings anymore it's such a shame cos for some strange reason I loved putting earrings in

not quite...   I assume there was a slight dimple..   

doing an pierced ear is only hard to get it started...  cos it tends to do the "woman with drill on wall" slipping thing  

I had my first ear piercing done at a shop, when I was about 10.    The rest (which are all healed up and gone now)...  I did myself from scratch..   at the back of the coach on the school French trip!
