I`ve come into the safe haven for a while - nearly every post out there is slagging off John James. So I`ve come here to say my bit.

JJ is showing himself to be more and more of a lovely guy.  He rants I know but there is such a tender side to him.

IMO John James doesn`t need to worry about upsetting Josie - don`t people understand that you can have a really close bond with someone and need to be around them without it being sexual. I`m sure this is the case with JJ and, in part, with Josie.  He`s the sort of bloke that`s exciting to be around without actually fancying him.

I totally agree with you Jeggo!

I think he's a lovely bloke.  I think he is unusually sensitive to women (and I know that is the polar opposite to what the rest of the forum think)...  He has some issues and stuff... but I think he has a really good heart.

Josie too.  I had male friends when I was younger, and a couple of them I fancied like mad... a couple of the others ones fancied me like mad.

But we were still friends... even with an inbalance of feelings.

Also... even the male friends I had for years and years that I had never ever thought of in that way ended up trying it on at some point or another.

This is the way it is with mixed gender friendships... but it doesn't make them any less sincere.

They have made this years big brother for me.   I like them both and unlike some JJ fans I don't blame JJ's problems on Josie... or vice versa.

Tis the realest thing I have seen on a big brother for years.

I have said to her "this is not a nag like my dad nags... this is an important maternal announcement... please prepare to listen... & save information in your IMPORTANT mental file!"

DO NOT LOSE THIS!

Have ONE place you keep it when you are travelling (tis why I always wear my denim jacket... my top pocket is my passport pocket)...  ONE place where you keep it when you are away.... ONE place where you keep it at home (THE IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS FILE).

It had better have sunk in.... I am going to have to keep spot testing her.

She can now erase the three golden rules of being home alone though (no-one in, no-one out, no cooking!)...

I told her this about her national insurance card when that came through a couple of years ago.   She was adamant I was nagging....  all cocky.   She didn't want me to record her NI number anywhere.   (however... I did... all sneaky beaky style... I put it in the house address book)....

So... a couple of weeks ago she was applying for a summer job AND HAS LOST HER NI CARD... AND CANNOT REMEMBER THE NUMBER!

I had a very smug mother moment as I made her sweat... before producing her NI number right before her eyes!

I remember them days only too well ditty.... I laugh at all the mums now doing the 'school runs'

Only it doesn't end there!  Had a call from my daughter an hour ago, I've got a problem she said, then the phone went dead!  I've been on tenterhooks for a whole hour, tried her half a dozen times and couldn't get through, panics big time! Panic

Finally get her, and wait for this right!  She's as chirpy as a bliddy budgie, so I say well what was the problem?

Oh she said, My fuel tank was nearly on empty, I thought I was going to run out, and I've just been spray tanned and it was raining, so I wouldn't have been able to get out of my car in the rain.... So I might have needed you to come out with a can of fuel for me.
