Men of the forum.....how many pairs of shoes do you own and how often will a pair last you?  Are all men of the belief that 3-4 pairs are MORE than enough?  Do you think your female partner/friends have way too many shoes or do you understand the need for lots of shoes?  Lots and lots and lots of shoes.

I ask because my OH is up cleaning our room and has naughtily went under the bed and discovered the hidden stash of shoes.  I am hearing 'shoes, more shoes, more f**king shoes, how many feet do you think you have' ..that kind of thing.  I admit there are 5-6 pairs that have never been worn YET but the majority of them have been worn at least once and will be worn again.

He, on the other hand has 3 pairs of trainer, 2 dress shoes, 1 casual navy boot things and 3 pairs of work shoes/boots.  Madness, why would you wear the same shoes with every outfit?

I think I had best go save my shoes before he dumps them!

Crunchy that's a good start.  Those shoes that you wore to the wedding.  I'm sure if another wedding came up then you'd not need to buy another pair because you have a suitable pair there.  That's my logic in keeping shoes.  I might not have worn them since but I might wear them again so I shouldn't throw them out!

Oooh I'm not sure I'd like my OH to have lots of shoes.  His annoy me enough when I see them lying around the house.  Put them away fgs!!  And anyway...if my man had lots of shoes where would I keep my shoes?

My OH has just bribed me by saying for every 3 pairs I throw out he'll replace them with 1 new pair.  Not all at once though, like 3 pairs or flipflops out and he'll buy me a new pair nearer summer, boots in winter etc.  I like this deal.

I've got hubby pretty well trained, he knows to put his shoes away - or I'll nip his head.

It's taken me over 30 years to do it.

A tough nut to crack then Yogi?

Yes, he thought he was being crafty saying that but I can easily get rid of 12+ pairs that I don't really like or which aren't comfortable and get new ones for them!  Silly man.

I don't really think there's anything he has 'too much' of (apart from lbs ) so I can't even complain.  He also says I have too many dresses, which is true.  I am going to have a big clear out I think.  Make way for the new stuff

You better believe it. It was far easier and quicker to train the dog.

I'm a hoarder of those too so I probably shouldn't joke about his

Ells

In all seriousness I have just had a look at the pile of shoes he has found and I am a bit .  They aren't expensive shoes at all but it's quite awful to think how much money has been spent on them.

I feel bad now.  Bad enough to have agreed to ebay the ones which are uncomfortable or too high, which should see quite a few pairs go.

Do you lot hoard anything or have too much of 1 thing?

I may be a sad old git but I collect American Baseball jackets.

(The ones they wear in U.S. colleges with wool bodies and leather sleeves)

I have around 50 from the 1950's - 1980's in many colour combinations.

I always try to match my footwear to the jacket I am wearing so I also collect Nike Air Force 1 Hi-Tops.

I have around 15 pairs plus my smart shoes for getting suited up.

And don't even get me started on T-Shirts.....

I've bought one from almost every gig I've been to and have well over 200 dating back to the early 80's.

And I still wear them.

Even bands that have long since split up.

I don't dress to please others - I dress to please myself.

But they are all kept tidy on a shoe rack.

I'm not a messy person.

Very organised in fact.

With the music collection I have (84,500 albums) you have to be or you'd never find anything!.

Anyone missing something they used to have - let me know.

I may well have it.....

Not all vinyl - probably about 10,000 on vinyl - all in cupboards - in "genre" and alphabetical order, plus cassettes, CD's, and 5 1TB hard drives full of MP3's.

I like music

Do you wear slippers whilst listeninig to it?

Saint

Mr C has quite a few pairs of shoes. Ranging from his dress shoes (several pairs, depending on which suit he's wearing), casual shoes which he wears with jeans, again depending on what colour he isnwearing on top, works shoes, squash trainers and then the ones he prefers for sky diving. All in all, I would say in execs of 20 pairs.

I however, could not possibly disclose how many pairs I have. But I am of the belief that one can never own too many pairs of shoes.
