I are resting! For a bit anyway. Then real life will rear it's ugly head and I will have to get dressed and get on with it.

I like men, (and women,) who are able to feel/show emotion and compassion......not to the extent that either are 'Tiny Tears' and blubbering at the slightest thing, but enough to demonstrate that they are sentient beings and not emotionally disconnected.
my OH cries quite regularly not big sobbing boo hoo hoos type wailing i do but he gets chocked up with a few tears. i dont see a problem with it. men are human too and have emotions. i'm surprised he doesn;t cry more often being with me tbh
Crying is one of many natural human emotions.
It's not the prerogative of either men or women; crying is done by people of both sexes.
Sadly there has grown this very silly thing that it is less than manly if a man weeps.
How unfair to expect a man to stifle his true emotions simply because there is a rather stupid "men don't cry" attitude going on.
Of course men cry - and should. It is healthy

Showing your feelings every time, it's not wrong for a man to cry, when it is something that is genuinely emotional to them.

A girl i worked with cried at anything and everything, so much so that it lost its impact and she was bascially ignore while she sat sobbing at her desk most of the time.
OMG - CROC the same happened to me !!May i get this off my chest please?
A woman i worked with used to cry on every shift, she sed "I can't accept criticism of any kind"
So each nightshift she wud come in looking moody and demanding - so i wud offer all the time and attention.
Another day she wud be up and alert - but use this oppertunity to be abrupt and argumentative, chalenging me and arguing me down without a thought to my feelings.
The next day? All upset and needy - expecting my sympathy.
As you may imagine my patience wore very thin, very quickly as i saw her weeping as a ploy to get her own way all the time.
In the end i ignored her and she started staying in another part of the building - watching TV on her own, lol
The day before we were all moved onto other workplaces she had the nerve to call me a "Selfish f**king prick"
Ha ha ha her face wen i sed "I cud get you sacked for that" was worth all her sh*t
I am with the anti crying in public possey! Mostly. In extreme circumstances... or if its obvious the person crying just can't not do it (get extra brownie points if they seem to be trying to hide the fact they are crying).
I HATE women that cry at work... during work related incidents! Especially if they have a male boss... gives the rest of us a bad name. Would be interested to see how a male worker crying in the face of a female boss got on though.
Men I know crying.... I remember my Dad crying when his mum died when I was a kid. Don't get me wrong... I don't damn him for doing it... but I remember the acute discomfort I felt when he grabbed me and started proper blubbing!
I have only seen Mr Ditty cry cos of sad stuff once... well.. he had a few tears... and I totally PMSL cos it was at something on the telly... and of all the things it could have been... it was the episode of E.R. when they rush a baby chimpanzee in to be treated... with the mummy chimp there too.. and the baby chimp died. Its not as though it really died!! Its was a baby chimp actor ffs!
His eyes tear up cos of other emotions... pride, relief & happiness are the ones I can think of!
I few blokes I can think of that regularly cry... tend to do it to get themselves out of some corner they have got themselves into... last resort ... cry!
I prefer to do my crying alone.... prob why I don't particularly like having to watch others do it willy nilly!

A number of these posts comment upon how the observer feels about a man crying.
That is understandable.
But what about seeing it from the point of view of the one who is weeping.
There may be a real need for catharsis. If so one of the worst possible things would be for someone to come along and try to persuade them to stop crying. That would be for the observer's benefit and not the person who feels a need/desire to cry.
There are numerous case studies of people who have supressed genuine grief for years - and who have suffered as a result.
Crying is normal and natural.
Crocodile tears and using tears for gain or effect is not nice.
But crying from the heart is authentic.
Oh... I hear you Brisket... and have had a little think about it all, dragging instances of men I know crying out of memory archive..
when I actually thought about it... there have been a quite a few blokes who I have been there with, when they have broken down and cried... one had lost his dad, one was on his way to having a nervous breakdown due to financial, family & work pressure, one fighting for custody of his kid.. etc. But I didn't remember any of these instances initially, and I think its cos at the time, and in my memory, we were dealing with a crisis in their lives, and as part of that I didn't really acknowledge the tears... acknowledge is the wrong word... notice, perhaps.
I was close mates with them all... (not romantically)... close being the word.... so I suppose it didn't make me feel awkward...
thinking about it... I cried in front of them quite a bit too!
Nowt quite like being young & dumped!
So there be my stance on it all really. Whilst there are always exceptions... usually I think crying should be done with those close to us.
Its probably wrong to feel this... and if it is I blame the peeps that use crying as a weapon!
