Surely the point being that as we regroup we may be able to take on board a more traditional Labour philosophy. Some might say that the UK public will never vote for that again, so be it. I can live with not being in power again. As Mr Benn suggested, one puts one's ideas before the voters and they either like it or not.

There's loads of animosity about Ed Balls, from reading about stuff on the net, I don't mind him but I seem to be in the minority...

I really like Ed Balls too can't understand the animosity ...is it something to do with his union connections? Although he's my ptreferred choice I don't think he's very electable .....of the Milliband two .....................I think (at the moment, though I reserve the right to change my mind) I prefer Ed.

Ed for me. He has always come across as wanting and being honest.
I hadn't seen much of Ed Balls until I saw him a few weeks ago on the Andrew Marr Show.  He struck me as being really swivel eyed.  I know my opinion doesn't count for much in this context but you know when you come across someone and you feel as if, if you shake hands with them, you would have to count your fingers afterwards?  I suppose in the same way whenever I watch Peter Mandelson I always feel slightly grubby afterwards.

Ok, we all know personal appearance shouldn't matter a jot.... but we all also know it matters a lot ........so....

I can't take to Ed Balls cos he looks like a member of the BNP.

I've only ever seen Ed Miliband talk the other day when he announced he was running .....and he looked like a little kid trying to pretend he was cool and confident.

David Milband? ..........well, I'm with Hilary Clinton on this ....so he gets my vote.

*disclaimer* - My recent vote for Gordon Brown negates all shallowness of the above post.

stuff does change...
It doesn't really ditty, IMHO, the parties are loyal to their ideologies and the voting public gets fed up after a few years and goes for the opposite, only to start moaning about it after a year (at most) and desperately wait for a general election, voting Lib/Dem to keep anybody out and getting nowhere. It's a hamster wheel.
