I can cook preeeeetty well.. even if I do say so myself.. and that's all down to my Grandmother teaching me from when I was tiny. I make a killer arrabiata and I have my Grandmother's tiramisu recipe and I swear I've never had a better one than hers. None of that sloppy crap they serve in what passes for Italian restaurants.

I grew up in a very small town that was mostly first and second generation Italian immigrants. Most were family to each other and from the same part of Italy, though I was too young at the time to know and too dumb to ask from where. Anyway, they would have kicked you right out of the restaurant for something like that.
