El Loro posted yesterday:The last batch of six contestants tonight.
For Marcus's skills test 3 of them must avoid injuring themselves while they are preparing decapitated bananas.
For Monica's skills test the other 3 must work while the fool leaves it there.
Both my clues are cryptic and involve another language besides English, but the same language for both clues.
Answers to my clues. Decapitated bananas = ananas which is French for pineapple, the injuring bit refers to caramel as we often see contestants hurting themselves while making it.
French for the fool leaves it there = sot-l'y-laisse which is what the French call chicken oysters.
The last of the quarter-finals tonight. Monica's turn for the favourite ingredient test. My clue for the ingredient is:
trop c'est trop
The three critics are Jay Rayner, William Sitwell and Amol Rajan.

Ok ...I understand the first clue now...but Iâd never have gotten the second one as I didnât even know what a chicken oyster was until last night

you're half way through solving it. Just say it to yourself with a 'Allo 'Allo accent and translate it again
