Tonight starts with an Invention Test based on preserved food (? pressed ham) and tinned food (? beans). The ?s are because the BBC webpage hints that it's those but it could be something different.
Then it cooking a 2 course meal for 3 food critics ( Jimi Famurewa, William Sitwell and Tracey Macleod)
BBC says 2 of the 4 chefs go through to the semi-finals but that's not always the case.
