As in previous years there will be two Masterchef specials.

There's a celebrity one with 4 previous Masterchef celebrities returning: musician Mel Blatt, actor and comedian Richard Blackwood, singer Duncan James, and reality star Faye Winter.

And for the first time in Masterchef's history, the other one is five food critics who have been seen many times on Masterchef.
Competing are Grace Dent, Leyla Kazim, William Sitwell, Jay Rayner, and Jimi Famurewa, who will be pushed to the extreme in two demanding challenges cooking for judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace and then also returning champions Ping Coombes (MasterChef 2014), Kenny Tutt (MasterChef 2018) and Nikita Pathakji (MasterChef: The Professionals 2022).

BBC schedule has the celebrity one on Wednesday 20th at 9 pm.. Their schedule doesn't extend beyond the 22nd yet so no mention of the critics one at this time but could be on the 27th,

There's a Bake Off special on Christmas Eve at 8.15. Channel 4 generally does two so the one you've mentioned would be the second one
