Television cookery programmes don't get more challenging than this.
I have watched all the Australian, South African and New Zealand Masterchefs... they are so much better than ours is. . the format they have goes on for much longer and is much more interesting especially as they get to live in the masterchef house together throughout.. ours has got stale and in the more recent ones, when they have a 'pantry' the ingredients look piss poor... more like an asda shop than a really good fresh choice of goods for aspiring chefs..
BBC cutbacks really show in the format now. .same for Saturday kitchen, getting rid of the two viewers slots makes it just a show for Chefs to high 5 each other and some 'sleb' to advertise their latest, book, film, show...
I'll still watch it tho
I also have been meaning to ask or google this for ages. . do you think the food is still warm when they get to taste it? In particular the Southern hemisphere ones, where you can see that all the mess has been cleared away by the time they walk up with their plates for tasting..

I think SK has been rubbish for years. It's been on a rather steady decline. It's a tired format and a tired show, even James Martin looked rough this week seemingly a metaphor for the show.
yeah yesterdays show was pretty bad.. that Rankin guy wouldn't shut up either ..

I switched off just after Rankin's piece and the other chef was introducing his 'plate'. A brisk walk felt more rewarding

Hasn't someone said something like this before?

It highly probable, I'm not afraid of the odd bit of plagerism

I agree , but she gIves us something to grrr about
B*gger, I'll be away for the start of it, but I definitely need Monica to stay if only for the BazGrrrr Factor. She's like the MC pet that no one wants There are times when she's like a souffle collapsing with added rabid narkiness.
No, I've never seen a rabid souffle, but if I did it'd be called Monica

The show's nothing without a BGF

You crack me up.. that's a classic.
I vote Massimo to replace Monsieur Roux btw.
Oh god, wouldn't it just be wonderfully and epically bonkers mental if Massimo took over..? Think of what his idea of a blind challenge could turn out to be..!
And then his comments Oh, I really really want it happen
are we using this thread?
