From DigiSpy:

As Big Brother announced that Mario had won this evening's challenge and therefore the chance to nominate another housemate in his place, Mario said: "I'm really sorry for the person I've chosen. Last week I tried to use a system but I'm not going to do that this week. I'm not going to give any reasons. It's absolutely nothing personal, but if they want to talk about it later I'll be happy to." He then put Sam's picture up in place of his own.

Shortly after the group disbanded, Sam came to speak to Mario in the bathroom, asking: "Why did you put me up then?"

Mario explained: "Last week I tried to make a system and it backfired on me because one of my closest friends ended up on the board. So this week I went for the person that I had the least connection with. I really do like you, it's just that I'm closer to other people."

Sam seemed unconvinced by Mario's reasoning, saying: "But last week you said that you didn't want to swap newbies so they could have another week, and then another week goes by and I'm in the exact same situation." Mario replied: "That system that I used last week of not putting newbies up caused a big crack in my relationship with Dave."

The pair chatted about the situation for a while, with Sam listening calmly to Mario's words of reassurance. The 21-year-old then said: "It's alright, it's fair enough. I didn't really agree with how Dave held it against you, so I'm not going to get angry with you. It's hard to do. It's cool."

The former mole then promised never to choose Sam in the 'Save & Replace' again if the situation arose, to which he replied: "I can understand it's really tough, so I'm not going to get really wound up about it."

Before leaving the bathroom, Sam gave Mario a hug, saying: "It's cool, you did what you had to do didn't you, really."

He really shouldn't be promising people he won't put them up, he's painted himself into a corner already. Save and Replace doesn't work with promises.

Hey, I can understand and believe me, I am NOT at all supporting Mario. It was nasty and underhanded and everything else.  My point (and this is probably not the thread to state it, but it really angers me) is that nothing any of us can do will make a blind bit of difference.  The tweenies have decided who the winner is this year and it is John James.
I agree Suzy and it will be very interesting to see who John James decides he wants out on Friday - cos whoever it is, will go.
