Big Brother must be feeling very silly right about now. Trying desperately to keep Sam in via punishments and twists, and still the lad finds himself up for the chop. If Big brother had done things properly, Sam might not even be up on the board right now.

I imagine he felt putting John James up would have been wasted at this point.
I don't like Sam, and we also have a chance to get rid of nasty Dave.

I think it's because he promised Sam that he wouldn't.  Basically he's just ruined his own integrity.

Having John James and Dave up together would have been pointless.

I'm really disappointed that he chose Sam.
But it's his choice:
*I wasn't expecting him to pick John James, as they are all aware of his popularity.
*John James already threatened Mario if he picked Josie last week.
*Mario's best mate now seems to be Corin so he wouldn't pick her.
*He promised that he wouldn't pick Steve or Andrew after last week.

So if he'd picked anyone else, people would still be calling him a coward for breaking a promise, he's damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.
At this stage in the game, everyone should be fair game, but John James and Josie are ruling the house.
