Most people would need a little time to digest and come to terms with it I suppose.
But Mario seems to do it reasonably quickly.
He seems to have a certain good grace about it.
He also understands the game which helps.

He went straight to the Dr and came out looking like he'd been crying, then went to Ify and said thanks for trying to win the task (i.e save me) then went ionto the kicthen to moan abit more  makes you wonder who he would have picked if he was up and had won the task (imo that would have been Keever) so he should stop moaning about it
