Personally, I think it was a matter of crossed-wires. Davina got excited when he agreed to cut his hair, but didn't realize he meant it for souvenirs.
When Marcus realized their intentions were different from his, he refused to compromise: not something that should have come as a surprise to anyone who's been watching him all these weeks...

I didn't agree with Siavash putting pressure on the others to give the money away. Marcus was the one who had most to say about it, he was either desperate or just another excuse to put people off Siavash.

Thats what Marcus has been doing all the way through, telling the HM's he has done things for them when its really to make himself look good.
