Noirin is like a little school girl who is just waking up to getting lots of attention form the boys and cannot get enough. Like Marcus she is arrogant too. Riding roughshod over everyone's feelings. Tom was right. She has issues.[QUOTE]
In what way has Noirin ran "roughshod" over everyone's feelings?
If anything it is her willingness to do almost anything to avoid hurting the feelings of others that gets her into trouble.
It is amazing that people can get the wrong end of the stick to this degree.
Over the feeling of Shives, Marcus,Shive's g/f and even her ex, whom she claims to be in love with.
Right.
She is very considerate to Siavash's feelings. It is quite apparent that she does not "fancy" him yet she is still kissing him etc. She clearly likes him a lot but not enough to have a relationship with him. She gave in to his emotional, enthusiastic and loving advances, does that make her inconsiderate? No it doesn't. She is assailed by these advances and they are so enthusiastic she feels obliged to reciprocate because she is flattered and because she doesn't wish to hurt the feelings of the suitor.
As regards Marcus she has shown the patience of a saint. Again she likes him as a person, she considers his feelings to the degree that she has not been ruthless in rejecting him, as other women in the house would have done, and she has done everything in the house worrying about the effect on Marcus. She has been absolutely plain to him about her feelings when he persisted and her patience was exhausted, and after the Siavash incident she has tried repeatedly to show concern for him.
She can't be responsible for Marcus' emotional well being one hundred percent of the time! She can't help his addiction to her and him smothering her and chaperoning her and pretending they were a couple.
Why on earth do people think she should have to put up with living under Marcus' umbrella just because he fancies her? She has rights too.
She DID show concern about Siavash's girlfriend, it was only when he admitted to not having one that she accepted his advances. It is up to Siavash to be responsible for the issue of his gf and he has given so much misinformation about her status, the current explanation was that she was never his girlfriend until he announced it in the house to fend off any people who wanted a relationship with him in the house.
She has not been with her ex for 7 months, and she used her ex as a weapon to beat off Marcus and she even told him that.
You really don't have a clue as to what is going on or what judgements to draw.
It has been Noirin's consideration of the feelings of others and a reluctance to be selfish and ignore the feelings of others that gets her into trouble. I despair that people cannot perceive the most basic of social dynamics.
