Right, so the new theory is that Madeleine fell, bumped her head and died. Her parents, both medically trained, covered it up by Gerry carrying her towards the beach, maybe to the church, asking a priest to help hide a child's body, but also maybe taking her back to the apartment and hiding her body in a wardrobe.

The police must have forgotten to check the wardrobes, but she must have been in there long enough to leave a cadavar odour for the dogs. Then three weeks later, they managed to get the body into a hire car, without the journalists or police noticing, and spirit her away to some hiding place, which has never been discovered.

They also managed to persuade their group of friends to all help cover it up. After all, Gerry must have been gone quite some time, carrying his daughter's body around the town, asking for help.

Their next step was to get as much publicity as possible, for two years now, in order to keep the story in the news, even though they would surely want it to die down, if they were guilty of anything. Crazy

Yes, it's easy to believe all that, isn't it? Crazy

There's always going to be conspiracy theories though, which is such a shame.

It sounds to me like a desperate attempt to exonerate some shoddy detective work. Why are some ppl so eager to suspect the parents of causing their child's death?

Link Or was this after they said it was cocunut

However my personal view is that unless Madeleine is found, alive or dead, none of us will ever know for certain what really happened.

Nope! Ignore the link...this was one month before they found it to be cocunut...sorry folks.

well.... putting the remaining children on 'at risk' would be a start - and a visit from a social worker once a month would bring the o so perfect parents back down to earth

I have sat and read all through this thread this morning.
How do you know that this is not happening because when they came back to this country, Social Services did visit them as they should, even now we don't know they may still have a social worker who calls to check the children from time to time.
Mind you we would not be allowed to know if this was the case due to confidential nature of the Social Servies.

I have mixed feelings about this case.

It's a strange one isn't it?

What I can't understand is why the parents and friends have not once said they regret their actions of that night i.e leaving the children alone. That they should never even have thought about it let alone done it.

Unless they have and I just haven't heard it....

This should help answer some of your questions.
Comrade Ogilvy
Theres one other theory that is plausible.Whilst I dont know of ANY parent who would ever leave their small children unattended for any length of time,I do know parents who routinely sedate their children if they want a fuss free evening entertaining. It's possible that the dose was miscalculated,or that she woke up groggy and fell.
Either way,I doubt very much we'll ever know the truth. Its a dreadful nightmare of a mess as a result of selfish stupidity on the parents part.No doubt they are paying the price now,but my sympathy would be far greater had they admitted leaving those babies was an irresponsible decision(if they have I'm yet to hear it).As for the friends who left a child who'd been sick, that simply beggars belief.
I just hope whatever happened to that little girl, she didnt,or isnt, suffering.

The kids were tested for drugs, as was Kate McCann.

That is the conclussion the Portugese investigation led to, which led to the McCanns being listed as suspects. When questioned they refused to cooperate and fled home asap.

If you haven't done so already you should watch the documentary featuring Concalo Amaral who led the investigation... http://blip.tv/file/2036418

What's your take on Bizzie's link above, Comrade? Or is it that only Madelaine was given drugs? Or perhaps that the kids were only given drugs on this holiday which therefore wouldn't show up in hair samples?

Where exactly would the parents have hidden the body? The police was called straight away and searched a wide perimeter. How can anyone envisage that they kept her body hidden for 3 weeks until they used a different car in which they took her to be disposed off? The video doesn't actually bring up anything we hadn't heard before.

3 week. In a hot country. The body, if there was one, probably walked away of its own accord! Ewww.

Hiya kasper,

Can't say I do. They both seem very intelligent, composed and not ones to show their feelings. Well that is what I think whenever I have seen them being interviewed.

As for theories about them having killed Maddie, I really don't see that as having been the case.

Well it was just a feeling I get when I see them together she seems uncomfortable with him there but I suppose she just generaly feels uncomfortable.

Where I live a young boy has been missing for 18 years his name is Ben Needham he was about 18 months old when he went missing in Greece on one of the islands and he has never been found

He would be coming up to being 21 soon
I just wonder how these people live with themselves when they abduct children

Is that the lad who went missing in Greece? It just doesn't bear thinking about, sometimes not knowing must be so much worse than knowing.
