yes I saw that. And yes I would guess in the same situation, I would never give up hope

Yes I saw that. I think that anyone who has a child that is missing, cannot give up hope otherwise you would just give up and die. There is always hope, no matter how slim, that this poor little girl will be found.

i agree i'm sure all there cases were classed as hopeless at one time or another but ended up with a happy ending, who knows, would really love this to be the same

sad thing must be for the parents is when sightings keep being reported, the high followed by the low must be horrific

he was abducted at 7.....and his captors snatched another little boy years later......steven took him to the police station to get him out......it was a heartbreaking film....and that's how he ended up free himself

sadly steven was killed in a accident at 21......

And then the blame of each other for leaving her. That must be a part of each low, theyre human and in turmoil of the worst order.

OMG i didn't know that he had been killed, thats awful Frowner

here you go juju.......like you say....it's awful...... Frowner

Steven married Jody Edmondson on June 13, 1985, and they went on to have two children, a son and daughter.

On September 16, 1989, just before 5:00pm PDT while riding home after his shift at Pizza Hut, his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car that pulled out into traffic. Steven received head injuries that were to prove fatal; he died at the Merced Community Medical Center at 5:35pm. He was driving without a license (suspended for a third time due to excessive traffic violations) and without his helmet, which had been stolen a few days before. Over 500 people attended his funeral, including then-14-year-old Timmy White, who helped carry Steven's coffin into the church. Steven had joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints just prior to his death.

I doubt they will ever find her - all the publicity after she first went missing and nothing was found so i doubt now that anything will come up!!

Also they have given that updated photo but if she is still alive i doubt she would look anything like that - it is almost certain a kidnapper would do whatever they could to change her appearance!!

I can't see any happy ending. Even if she was found alive and well and returned to her parents she wouldn't recognise them as her parents after 2 years. They would be complete strangers to her.

Thats true Nod

That would be pretty heartbreaking in itself *shudders* I can't imagine losing my little girl.
angelicarwen
Every sympathy goes out to her family but particularly to her a leading British criminologists report highlighted a long series of police mistakes in the case of Madeline.

Had these errors not happened she may have been found. He also said going by the evidence he believes that Madeline woke up and went looking for her parents. It is only fair to say the family denied this and say she was took from the room. However it would explain some things .

Whatever did happpen even if she is found alive she will never be the same as the day she was taken. I do hope she is found but also hope alive and happy wherever she is.

Whole different attitude when it comes to parents leaving their kids alone. If you want a family holiday then have a family holiday. If you want lovely sociable evenings sans offspring then leave them with their grandparents.

totally agree Clapping

i was only speaking about this case with my dad today, it must be heartbreaking for gerry and kate, having to live through this waiting for answers, but at the end of the day, they are the people that are to blame for the circumstances they find theselves in imo, my daughter is 14 and i wouldn't even leave her alone in the house while i went out for a drink in our own home let alone in a strange place

I totally agree. However, that doesn't stop me from feeling anything but sadness for Kate and Gerry. However questionable their actions were the consequences have been devastating they have to live with the horror of that every day of their lives

I agree Boltonfan and I also think that they felt they were in a situation where they were sort of in their back garden with the proximity of the flat to the restaurant and the general feel of the resort. I wouldn't have peace myself to do that, but I also feel nobody can really judge.

i agree, the guilt must be over powering, but why on earth they thought it was ok to leave 3 children under the age of 5 alone is beyond me
