I have to agree Pirate
Ben Needham. Maybe the McCanns should have taken a similar approach.

they probably didnt cos theyre guilty as f*ck
velvet donkey posted:It really is a bewildering case. From hiring a PR (Clarence black is white Mitchell) before they were suspects to Gordon Brown's state intervention to all that has been discovered due to the published police files.
Stage management in it's full glory. Why?.....is the $64,000 question. And then the farce of Operation Grange cause Rebeckah Brooks bent Cameron's elbow.
throw clement freud into the mix & we've got a bigger story
its the Dr Gaspar statement that does it for me..nobody but NOBODY should talk about a child like that-especially your own child

i havent got kids but i brought up kids-one of them-a girl-was a baby until around 7 when i split with her mom-i wouldve chinned anyone that spoke about her in those terms-make no mistake
I've learned a lot from this thread & the links- I had no idea that there was sooooo much more to this case! The sheer content of info out there is baffling
i seriously hope the truth out'S publically
I see on the forums today, that Panorama have been seen in Luz. Perhaps we'll soon see a new documentary about the case
On reflection I think we have to assume them innocent until proven guilty. Those of us who have kids and grandkids are aware that bringing them up is not an exact science and neither is there a set of rules governing how people deal with grief.
Social media itself is becoming such a haven for misinformation, disinformation and downright lies that it's difficult to follow the facts.
velvet donkey posted:Well if we are after facts maybe the McCann PJ files would be as good a place to start as any.
I'm reading the translation of Amaral's book ATM (online of course, as it still isn't published over here).

What's your thoughts Yakult?

If you had asked me a day ago, I would have said I think the parents were selfish and neglectful - and that's putting it mildly. I was on the fence regarding their guilt of anything else.
I'm on Chapter 8 of Amaral's book and I'm getting down off that fence.

They are a couple of dodgepots, I never trusted their weird/bizarre story from day one.
There was one story of some of Maddie's DNA found in a cab. AFTER she went missing, but the parents made a lot of fuss about it helped by our do gooding idiot media so the story/evidence was dropped, forgotten about.
velvet donkey posted:What about Cuddle Cat. Maddies favourite "doll"?
Why did Kate wash that after her disappearance? And why did the dogs pick up a death scent on it on a random test with other items?
Answer by Kate - she took it along with her whilst visiting recently deceased patients prior to the holiday.
Pull the other one. As Gerry said on Portugese Telly when the interviewer was going off piste (with Sandra) - "Ask the dogs Sandra".
Indeed - ask the dogs!
I agree .....I can't imagine washing it Velvet ....surely it would have smelled of her daughter ....something very precious under the circumstances

Exactly Baz!
Maybe her daughters blood?
I dunno, I'm making assumptions here
I don't know how to put it rightly but was Kate trying to wash all traces away?
velvet donkey posted:Baz posted:velvet donkey posted:I'll try and listen to it later Velvet
Start at 1hr 38m if you cannae be bothered
Oh ok
I dare not listen before I sleep, I'll have nightmares! But I'll definitely tune in tomorrow, thank you velvet
