Though I am sure these pictures will make you smile, and could certainly use a caption or two...please though, no mocking little Atlas' skinny legs

Oh my!

Atlas still manages to look handsome and dignified.......well maybe a fail on the dignified, lol.

You do realise he's hatching a plan to get you back for the costume? And that Zeus is his partner in crime....that's what this pic says to me

Love how Egypt is asleep in full fairy costume

Thanks, I needed a giggle! Great pics.

Yes, I dont think dignified comes into that picture and you might be right....little Egypt is already getting her own back on us, she is FOREVER biting my feet through the duvet when I am in bed, even if I keep my feet really still, she still manages to find my toes, and she bites HARD

Glad you enjoyed the pictures, they make me smile so much!!

We took the dog to a neighbouring town on Tuesday to see a doggy back specialist..  he is a normal vet... so we had to go to his practice..    when we were in the waiting room (big waiting room... there were another 5 dogs in there, and one cat in a cat carrier)..    we heard this owww owwww owwww from outside..  it got louder & louder..    OWWW OWWW OWWW..  finally in came this woman with a cat carrier...     The noise this cat made was unbelievable..  the receptionists couldn't hear a thing on the phones...    all the dogs were stunned & the little cat that was already in the waiting room was doing mini me echos of the owww.

I knew it when the owner said the cat was only 4 months old it must be a Bengal..   it was!     A really really loud pissed off Bengal...   (was there for its nuts chopping off I reckon).

They (in agreement with the rest of the waiting room) fast tracked it to the front of the queue for the sake of our ears

Ahh, she's beautiful!

Had Minka down at the groomers today ( change of weather means she's prone to matting so thought I'd get her a proper combing) .. the noise of her! I forgot , when we first got her she growled all the time ( vet said it was a self-comforting thing - that and she strokes her own head ! Cat, not the vet! ) .. she sounded like a Rottweiler today, the wee soul , she was so spooked. Came home wearing a furry frock and shredded leggings ( me, not Mink). Cause she's so settled and gentle in her own place, I'd forgotten how much of a scaredy cat she really is. She was fine within two minutes of getting home, I'm still jangling!

She's good thanks..    been a bit overshadowed by the probs with the dog..   but she is a lovely lovely little thing...   she is so purrry..    and she makes chipmonk noises when she flies around the place.

She's been a bit restricted cos we are supposed to have the dog on enforced rest...    but they are getting used to each other..    they are good in the same room, we just haven't let her down to run around with him, cos we are trying to keep him quiet.

She loves being cradled like a baby..   she will spend hours being held like that...   snoozing or sucking on one of our fingers

I have a pic of her...  being held by Ickle..   with her Brainy Smurf...

Dirtyprettygirlthing

Ta Lori..    fingers crossed n all that  (one way or another I think he's going to be fine..    it just might end up costing us quite a bit..     the bill is currently at ÂĢ1600, if the enforced rest doesn't work..  then that is about ramp up into the thousands.  Not that I resent it..   I'll remortgage the house if I have to)

& yes..  she is a cutie.    AJ loves her too

I know what you mean. My fabulous dog was diagnosed with cancer in her hip, and we were seeing specialists until it became obviously pointless.

Lori

Yeah...  I know exactly what you mean...    twas the same when we lost the puppy...   he had a tumour on his nose...    he was my parents dog, but we loved him too.   I said at the time that if selling our house could have given him a chance I would have done it in a heartbeat.  Sadly, the poor little sod didn't stand a chance.     That was 6 years ago..   I am only just coming to terms with all that now (bizarrely, AJ being ill has made losing Wilson more bareable..   the sharp here & now pain of AJ being ill made me realise that time had healed a lot of the Wilson hurt).

Anyways...   hey ho..     thankfully (seriously THANKFULLY) we have found an amazing specialist for AJ, and its looking very very hopeful that we will have him properly sorted out one way or another.

& yeah.. there are some lovely puddy tats in this thread (& I am not normally a cat person)..

its a bit mad in our house at the moment..     interesting integrating a kitten into a house with a dog in it....    we've just had a bit of a tom & jerry moment going on

Yeah, not bad thanks.

I'm not an animal person let alone a kitty one. But, like I said, I was begged till the cows came home by the whole family. Basically 3 against 1! Now, I love him to bits, although we have to keep him away from Nigel the hamster (which btw, was supposed to be a substitute for a cat, yeah!!)

I can imagine your household! How old is yours?

Chocolate_Cake

She's...   *does quick calculations* ..   about 11 weeks

we got her a bit young really..   but she desperately needed a home.    She's actually my daughter's cat (& tbf, for once, the daughter has stayed true to her word and is fully responsible for her.. I am quite impressed)..

She's a lovely little thing though, dead purry..    and she doesn't do much of the pummelling thing..      I am pleasantly surprised.

She does all the mental kitten things that kittens do (the schizo running along, then arched back sideways jumps...    then flying across to the otherside of the room launching herself at a chair & missing & sailing right over it into the dogs water bowl)..

How old is Simba (he really is beautiful btw..    ducky has a ginger tom called Bobs..    if I got a boy cat it would have to be ginger one )

Simba is supposed to be my daughter's cat but as my husband is still unemployed, Simba is daddy's cat.

They do take turns in cleaning the litter tray, that is the one thing I said I wouldn't do.

Simba has his schizo moments too, he caught he foot caught in a ladder that was tucked away last week, he cried so much! Took him to vets against husband's wishes, only to be told he's fine now and he's a 30 quid bill for a 2 minute check!

He's nearly 4 months, we got him when he was nearly 8 week. He is a cutie.

And no!!! He's not allowed near Nigel, my daughter would have a heart attack!

Chocolate_Cake

Awwwwwwww poor Simba had a boo boo paw!!   I hate it when they cry..   Faythe (or Moo as she was initially called) cries, but its usually for attention, food, or food, or cos she wants to go & goad the dog

Sorry to hear hubby is still unemployed ...   as you know..   I've been there...   and that was when the job market wasn't as bad as it is now.   Hope he gets sorted soon Cakey lady xxx

Daughters on a gap year (resitting physics, as she didn't get the grades she needed for uni last year cos she was suffering with Glandular Fever for most of it)..    anyway..  she;s been trying to get some work just to tide her over..  you know, shop or bar work..   the competition is ridiculous!!  She's actually signed on this week  (had to be done..   part of the cat deal was that she would pay for the pet insurance..    we didn't have it for the dog, who has had a back problem for a few months..  the bill for which is now running into the ÂĢ1000's...     hence the cat must be insured )

Yes he did, even though he was in a lot of pain, he was still trying to jump on the window!

He's trying to go self employed but that's looking bleak too, hey ho. It's been a rotten year and a half, good days, bad days.

Your poor daughter I hope she finds something soon, it's bloody tough out there. My daughter is now in yr 12, got fantastic results ranging from A* to B, a lot of As and Bs, considering the ups and downs in this house. Proud of her. She's been trying to get a part time job for months with no luck whatsoever.

We took insurance immediately, couldn't chance the cost you know!

Chocolate_Cake

Yeah... my daughters the same..   needs part time work.  Its not through lack of trying either..   I am dead impressed with her determination in terms of looking for & applying for jobs.

Bloody bloody government

My hubby still in the job he finally got with the council..   and he loves it, still.   (though it still does not pay nearly enough for us to live on).    I am working two days a week (cushy job data processing, a friend that already works there got me in)..  so we are almost breaking even each month now..   so long as nothing breaks down (hahahaha..   my whole bleedin house is falling to bits around me).

Glad you got the kitten insured.    My Dad is helping us out with the dogs vet bills..    but we might have to get another mortgage for a few thousand if it carries on..   my parents are feeling the pinch too.

I really hope your hubby gets sorted..  either self employed or with a job..    things have to start getting better eventually..   you told me that once (only in a much better poetic way ).

Bloody bloody government for sure!

From my daughter they want sales experience, wtf, she's a student, her CV clearly states it. Morons! Our daughters just have to keep trying harder, and I wish them both the best. She wants driving lessons, her 17th birthday was Tuesday this week, so she got some money, she'll use that. I don't know how she'll manage after.

Blimey Ditty, remortgage for the dog?? I suppose you have to do what needs to be done, gotta live for the moment sometimes.

And thank you, I remember the poem well
