awwww hugo is looking really handsome!!!!!

ditty, your little baby looks so sweet, I think they will sort it out, I read that it takes about 3 weeks before they start to sort it out and can take months... hope they sort it soon.

I may have the same sittuation when 'muna' comes   the cat dealer breeder keeps updating us on when she will be ready to find a new loving home.... that zazz   Im not sure how i feel about it, worried she will upset the happy little thing we got going on here. But then she might be wonderful

Lastly..... cat litter! I have found this amazing man on ebay that sells a uk alternative and much cheaper version of "the worlds best cat litter".  Ive bought a sample off him and it was great! Here is the link....

yeah... I'd read it can take a while too Gyps...   I keep telling myself that if we can't get it sorted in the short term...  then it will be ok in a few months when at least she is bigger (at the moment she is doggie bitesize).

I have no choice... I have to persevere now...  and I still think it will be good for the dog.  It already has been in some ways..   he has a new spring in his step & is all smiley (though the reasons for this might not be the fluffy cuddly ones I hope for).

Re: you bringing another cat into your house...    tough call really.    We tried to home an abandoned Cairn cross breed when AJ was a couple of years old..   I tried everything, power walking them...  letting them scrap.. but both dogs insisted on being Alphas.   So my parents tried to take him in...  and he dominated their existing cairn to the point where he was a miserable unhappy wreck.   Worst bit was when the three dogs were together...   the dynamic changed.. and much as it broke my heart to do it, we had to take the rescue back (he did find his perfect home a few weeks later..  & looking back he should never have been allowed to go to a home with children or existing pets... he was a one on one type of dog).

Normally I wouldn't have been able to return a dog that had already had a rough ride.. but when you see your existing pets struggling & upset it makes it a little easier

Thats what im worried about, But im resloved that if it does upset our two then its going back. Apparently she is really dominant and will try to bully them but because ours are kittens then it might be easier (so says the cat dealer, who wants rid)

.... I might still say no. Its a lot of expense as well, it costs me ÂĢ40 a month in insurance for my two, that's another ÂĢ20 before we even start on food / litter / vaccines.

I did think...   you'd think the breeder would give the mummy cat a home for life there really wouldn't you?

I don't know how she can bear to part with her, having had her for so long!

Anyway... about that cat litter...  it looks good..  but I am struggling to work out the cost of that compared to what we have...  cos the litter we have is sold in litre bags...   & he is selling that stuff in kg bags..  & its impossible to convert litres to kgs without knowing the density!

(though I get the gist...  its good value compared to similar in the shops... and if used as directed)

I bought some similar on ebay, but from a different seller. I got two bags and when emptied, they filled a 40 litre plastic storage bin. That seller also sold in bags of 25kg, but he put (55lbs) in brackets ...if that helps

yeah the cat dealer (im so always going to call her that) ... She has LOADS of cats, she has already kept about 4 of her retired cats as pets, i think shes just running out of room. At any one time she has about 3 queens pregnant or giving birth.

FM

yeah.. that does help

which is good... cos the circular conversation going on around me about weight, mass, density, litres, kilo's & pounds was really starting to do my head in

I think the cat dealer is wrong to not give them a settled retirement in (what they must think of as) their home...    but...   on the other hand...   if it worked out with your two maybe she might be better off with you

In fairness to her, i omitted to say that she is also poorly and so winding down her breeding commitments. She has kidney failure (and is still young). But even if she didn't have health problems, she has far too many to keep them all. They live in big outdoor enclosures, its not just one or two she keeps to breed with, its about 15-20.

I also forgot to say... when she goes in to hospital in a few weeks, guess who zazz has volunteered to change their water etc .... ME !!!!! Ohhh no , not zazz... me!  Zazz has got really friendly with her and has been going round for coffee and chats all the time, ive met her twice, but since someone is working now muggins has the job

Im really secretly over the moon, i get to be surrounded by all those magnificent cats and i believe there will still be one litter of kittens there, not quite old enough to home yet. (lets just hope that none of those little scoundrels get in my bag or mysteriously disappear

See, I was thinking of you, dear!!

I would say so, Cologne, The breeder who we got our cats from, who are ALL really loving, and slightly soft in the head...one of the Mum cats can never be bothered with her litters she hisses at them and growls, from after about a week shes like ok, I gave birth to you now get out of my face!! and one of the other mum cats looks after them its mad, so I wouldnt worry too much if I were you...

zazz

We went to the mad cat dealing laydee this evening....a change of events has taken place....we all decided, Muna wouldnt fit in with our family, she is too demanding, and wouldnt be any good with Zeus and Atlas..awwww...

Anyway, it would seen there is this little silver girl, with a broken tail, in need of a "good home" that home just happens to be here the mad cat dealer saw us coming...

Soooooooooo

what do you think....

Yeah, sorry, Cologne, they are Bengals...gawjuss eh!

Lori...I am just being manipulated into going to collect her tomorrow...the mad cat dealer said "a silver will complete your collection" we seriously need to stop visiting that woman!!!

Gyps has gotten all maternal here....I think the mad tidy up, and storage madness was the start of her "nesting" this house is just too damn cute!!

Sadly they will often see their kittens as rival cats after a while. I remember one cat we had during my childhood, she had a litter of gorgeous kittens and one day they went missing.......we searched everywhere and then heard mewing noises coming from the kitchen - seems mummy cat had got bored and decided to stuff them behind the washing machine

Zazz, that silver girl is beautiful!

We have her home with us now...she is a real little sweetie...the boyz are being a bit mental, but mainly with each other rather than her

zazz

Here is a video of the little laydee who is munching on FILLET steak....YES!!! fillet steak...she is better fed than me and the little Gyps!!! Gyps being a veggie doesnt have a clue on meat, so rather than just picking up some cheap frying steak or something, she comes back with tescos best fillet steak spoilt little princess that Egypt is!!

Sadly Atlas and Zeus wont do the eating raw meat but Egypt, as small as she is, does their share!!

It should be pointed out, cat food and litter is not normally kept in the living room, just with the new arrival, we are having to keep her food and toilet seperate from the boys....

zazz

Ok there was a reason i bought the fillet steak. I saw it all chopped up in the fresh meat counter. I reckoned it would be cheaper to get one little bit (it looked from a distance to be a little cube) than to get a whole tray of meat.  I nearly fainted when one chunk was ÂĢ2.30. Lesson learnt

She is so adorable, she is so fearless. The boys are going mental, hissing and in a strop all around her and she just trots past them going on with her playing, oblivious.
