I'm just a cynical old toad and that's my excuse.
I'm usually very cynical and don't trust a lot of people. BUT I tend to think the whole of mankind is basically honest and moral, until proved otherwise. I am a contradiction in my own mind.
I'm with you on that! I thought some of the questions were skewed the wrong way for example 'honesty is the best policy' and 'there is no excuse to lie'. I disagreed as sometimes an untruth spares feelings. That's not Machiavellian, that's just decent!
I do think honesty is the best policy though. I hate having to answer direct questions, and the last time I did it was because my husband cooked something that I didn't like and it ended up in a huge row. I was very nice in my criticism, said I liked the sauce but I didn't like the dark turkey meat (which he knows I hate anyway). He ranted and raved, I was in tears - but the end result is that we will never have dark meat turkey again. So, it IS better to tell the truth!
